The third time I got a phone call from an agent asking me what was WRONG with my listing…seeing as how we had just dropped the price $20,000…I had to wonder what was wrong with my fellow agents. This listing is a ‘kiddie condo’ - an investor property in a complex intended for college students (trust me if you aren’t one you DON’T want to live there.) Just read a well written article on tax strategies and how they can apply to real estate agents. Actually, good advise for anyone looking to limit tax liability. http://realtytimes.com/rtpages/20090205_taxstrategy.htm It ends with a take away. I'd like to add my own take away and I'd like to send it as a shout out to our elected leaders in Washington, many of whom seem to be particularly challenged by the intricacies of tax strategizing. Consider actually PAYING your taxes after all that strategizing. That's just my opinion. Would you like fries with that?

I took a personality test a few months ago and it categorized me as a “Maven”. Alrighty then…a quick wiki-search and it turns out that’s “a trusted expert in a particular field, who seeks to pass knowledge on to others…” Cool. A little more reading turns up that “mavens may act most effectively when in collaboration with connectors - i.e., those people who have a wide network of casual acquaintances by whom they are trusted, often a network that crosses many social boundaries and groups. Connectors can thus easily and widely distribute the advice or insights of a maven.” Now we’re (1 comments)
