When swimming with the sharks make sure you have a quick exit plan. These days in the Austin real estate market there is blood in the water. The sharks are circling and you need to have a strategy, a keen eye and a quick exit plan. Inventory is at record lows.
Properties that would normally suffer and languish in a normal market are getting a lot of attention. In some cases too much. Properties with bad locations, serious needs for repair and update, possible foundation issues etc..

Yesterday our Youth Group participated in the Austin Bubble Run 5 K. They all had a blast and it helped us raise some needed funds for kids who could not afford to go to camp! The race included four bubble stations where you ran through red, green, yellow and blue bubbles so high that you could hardly see in front of you.
Nearly 4000 Austin locals participated. Looking forward to next year.

Today I am running in the Austin Bubble Run in support of our Grace Place Youth program. Proceeds we raise are going to help our youth go to summer camp. Love our Young People they are the best.
The Austin Bubble Run is a 3 mile run with lots of Bubbles along the way. Hopefully I survive. How bad can it be there are bubbles. lol.

There are some wonderful places you can live in the US! Austin is a beautiful city, rich with culture. A college town filled with young people who have big dreams. A city with great job opportunities in high tech. Home of 100's of start up companies who have branched out and franchised across the US: Mighty Bird, Sport's Clip, Dell Computers, Bearded Bastard, BikN, Printcopia, Rallyhood etc..

Hmmmmmmmmm! Wonder why I am thinking about fall and longing for it? What could it be? Have I grown tired of a hot summer? No, actually the summer has been pretty mild in Austin this year due to global warming, I am certain of that. We had an extra cold winter as well which proves global warming to all you doubters.
Let me see now, back to the subject at hand. Fall what happens in September that grabs my attention for the next five months? Hmmmm. Wait a minute I know what it is! No it's not soccer.

Many will not see this movie because they are just not Godzilla fans. I went with my son last night at the opening. My son is a huge life long fan. Even at 20 years old he continues to love it. He has a collection of action figures and some original movie posters in his room.
Some of the sequels in recent years have not held up but this one really does justice to the mighty monster. He is not just fierce but a friend of mankind. He does his part to save the world. Lot's of action and great close … (3 comments)

Low housing inventory, shortage of skilled building contractors, looks like a storm may be on the Real Estate Horizon in Austin Texas. I was filling up with gas the other day and overheard a builder pleading with a small construction crew who were also filling up with gas. The builder needed laborers to help start new approved projects but the laborers already had more work than they can handle.
The Oil and gas boom in Texas is moving a lot of laborers south toward Houston. Wages are way up and that is attracting the laborers. Now the local builders … (6 comments)
