Auburn Opelika Top City for Business - 07/30/08 02:12 PM
Inc.com announced its 2008 list for top cities for doing business and Auburn-Opelika ranked 5th. This is up from the 2007 list where Auburn-Opelika was 17th.
The news comes as the City of Auburn announced the addition of two new businesses within it's Auburn Technology Park West. German company Aluminum Technology Schmid and Seltzer Automotive have both begun groundwork on their new sites in the Park. The companies are projected to bring around 2500 additional jobs and $300 million in investments to the area.

I know we're all talking about it. I know we're all nervous about it. Some may even welcome it!
Being a newbie in Auburn, AL to Real Estate I have not quite learned all the techniques for working through a slower market. But if you like a busy schedule like me, you may find yourself looking for a few extra things to do to help your business.

Welcome news to ME!
It was welcome news this morning to see that new-home construction had slowed to its lowest pace in 17 years. Although this hurts some in the construction industry, this is the only way to continue the correction the market is experiencing and liquidate the existing inventory.
In Auburn, AL we have such an influx of new construction and we've seen many builders take the hit. We still have a strong market, but to see new homes remain empty for so long hurts everyone.
