I Want To Buy A Dyersburg,Tennessee Foreclosure - 02/24/12 12:53 PM

I want to buy a Dyersburg,Tennessee foreclosure. That seems to be the most common phone call coming into my Dyersburg real estate office these days.
Most of them are looking for a foreclosure because they have heard on tv that buying a foreclosure is a great way to get into a house cheaply.
What the tv people do not tell you is that a majority of those foreclosures have problems and often times "hidden problems" that will only surface after you buy.
When buying a Hud foreclosure there is a inspection report available before you write the offer. Hud hires … (3 comments)

Time To Put Part Of My Garden In - 02/23/12 08:47 AM
Normally I don't think about a garden until sometime early March but with a mild winter I am thinking it is time to get started.
I plan to till up at least part of the garden to get my onion sets in as well as cabbage and lettuce.
Does anyone have any early planting ideas for my garden? Is there another vegetable that needs an early start?
I had a pretty big garden last year but the heat and drought wiped it out in July. I did get lots of vegetables out of it before that happened. Normally I grow tomatoes, … (2 comments)

Headed To A Church Youth Conference This Weekend! - 02/14/12 10:51 AM
My family and I are headed to Gatlinburg this weekend for an event called Winterfest which has dynamic spiritual teachers who are speaking primarily to youths. It begins Friday night and goes through Sunday. Some of the speakers are Josh Ross and Rich Little but our favorite who will be speaking is Jeff Walling.
Here is a link to the schedule. The main reason I enjoy going is because of the praise and worship. You can hold up your hands and praise the Lord and everyone around you will be doing the same thing. This is really a place for seekers … (3 comments)

Comparing Cellphone Plans! - 02/10/12 04:55 PM
If you are like me you like to save money. A little over a year ago I switched carriers becasue of dropped calls and calls I never heard ring in. As everyone knows, if a potential customer cannot reach you. they will call another Realtor.
I ended up paying quite a bit more money to be accessible and on the network where I have the best coverage. I am on Verizon wireless. Currently I pay(before taxes) $119.98 for unlimited voice, messaging and data. With all the governement fees and taxes my bill is about $132 every month.
I just rented an … (7 comments)

Who Do You Refer To? - 02/08/12 06:07 PM

Earlier today my #1 agent asked me who I would refer to in Gatlinburg. He had and old client come into the office and ask him to help him find a Realtor in Gatlinburg,Tn. I told him to give me a few minutes and let me ponder that.
My ponder lead me to my office and desktop computer and a log-on to Activerain. Since I did not know someone from an almost daily contact on Activerain, I pulled up the states, picked Tennessee and then picked the city of Gatlinburg.
Guess what? The top two agents on the page did … (7 comments)

Fishing Experience In Destin, Florida - 02/07/12 05:28 PM

I received a google alert for the term Destin Pelican Beach Resort this morning. It was an article originally written in the Florida Sportsman Magazine just a few days ago.
The reason the alert popped up is because the fishermen in the article stayed at the Pelican Beach Resort. They were quoted as saying they stayed on the 7th floor and had a view of the ocean and morning sun. They had to have stayed in a 2 bedroom on the angled side which has a somewhat side view of the beach.
My #1004 is on the 10th floor and … (3 comments)

In searching for a post to reblog as part of testingof new software on the new activerain website I chose to reblog Lynn Pineda's post about 5 stages before a short sale is considered.

The 5 Stages before a Short Sale is Considered
In my daily readings I came across the writings of Twyman Towery PhD., where he noted the various stages of change and how it compares to grief; it is on the mark for what a distressed Seller experiences prior to listing their home to sell as a … (0 comments)

Who Says The Kindle Fire Isn't An Ipad Killer? - 02/02/12 06:10 PM
Who says the Kindle fire isn't an Ipad killer? It is if you like to read books and surf the net and check your e-mail and download awesome free apps.  This is in addition to being able to pull up my listings on the MLS and share them with customers I am with.
For someone like me who likes to save money, the $199 Kindle Fire is an economical alternative. I paid about $500 for each of my daughters' Ipad2's. They love them but they cannot do hardly any more with theirs than I can my Kindle. The only thing I … (3 comments)
