When you go grocery shopping,
take along a canvas bag or permanent carrying bag instead of using their bags.
Or, save your paper bags and take them back to the store with you to have them refilled.
If all that is too much to ask, at least get paper bags over plastic - and don't double-bag it.

Coming up September 18th is the Light the Night Walk. The walk benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. During this leisurely 2 mile walk, walkers carry illuminated balloons-white for survivors, red for supports and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer-thousands of walkers-men, women and children-form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer. Check in is at 4:00pm, the Opening Ceremony starts at 6:30pm and the Walk Start time is at 7:00pmm. The event takes place at Angel Stadium. For more information you can visit www.lightthenight.org.

Recently I read a new report that finds that 27% of renters surveyed indicated they do not plan to ever purchase a home, while 68% said it would be more than two years before they do.
Of the 68% of renters who plan to someday purchase a home, nearly 80% said there are factors that could inspire them to purchase within the next 12 months.
Factors cited included:
