Maureen McCabe Scioto Audubon Metro Park is unique because it is just a mile south of downtown Columbus. We went to see the newest Columbus Metro Park on Sunday August 30, 2009.

A point of reference for some although I am not showing it in the photos here? The Columbus Police Department Impound Lot is at 400 W. I heard from a Worthington Historical Society Member that the state had accepted the nomination now it is up to the National Park service whether Old Worthington will be on the National Register of Historic Places. Alan Johnson in the Columbus Dispatch wrote:
"The nomination of the Worthington Historic District -- bounded by North, Morning, South and Evening streets -- was approved yesterday by the Ohio Historic Site Preservation Advisory Board."

Delaware County schools got their 2008 - 2009 report cards yesterday, August 25, 2009 along with the rest of the school districts in the state of Ohio. The Ohio Department of Education released their report cards for the 2008 - 2009 school year yesterday. You can look at a whole school district or a school building on the site.
There is an overwhelming amount of information available.
You can look at report cards by school district or by school building.
Rather than A,B, C, D, F the grades that are earned by Ohio school districts are:

Congratulations to Franklin County schools districts who got top grades for the 2008 - 2009 school year as many schools are starting the school year this week.
The grades were released yesterday. There is so much information about Franklin County school districts on the Ohio Department of Education site it is mind boggling.
The easy thing for me is to look at the report cards.
You can look at report cards by school district or building by building within a school district.

Ohio Schools report cards come out today.
This morning Channel 10 News says:
"The Ohio Department of Education planned to release its annual school district report cards on Tuesday morning.
The report cards, scheduled to be released at 10 a.m., rank each district based on how they are performing in several areas."
As you send your kids off to school for the 2009 - 2010 school year what grade is the state giving your school district? A number of schools in northern Franklin County, Southern Delaware County start tomorrow I believe.

In a poll in The Other Paper, which was called 'This, That or The Other', Worthington won. It was in the category of Places, Worthington vs. Upper Arlington and Worthington won.
People could have voted for another place (The Other), a write in for example for Westerville or Dublin or Massey's Pizza...The Other Paper said someone wrote in Massey's Pizza often and despite the category? Massey's Pizza is a PLACE isn't it? A number of places. Not sure it got written in for suburb type places though like Worthington and Upper Arlington.

Thanks to Connector Radio I got to visit the Ohio State Fair, Saturday.
Actually I probably could have gone to the Ohio State Fair without free tickets. The Ohio State Fair is really an affordable form of entertainment for adults who can amuse themselves with rabbits, cows, crafts, people watching… I loved fairs growing up but the food and the midway were what I loved. I’ve outgrown cotton candy, deep fried food and the Tilt-O-Whirl.

I was talking to a friend who manages a "restaurant" in the campus area who is counting down the days to the first football game at Ohio State.
Saturday, September 5th, 2009 Navy is in Columbus to play the Ohio State Buckeyes....
The USC game is the following week. The Columbus Dispatch had a front page article Saturday that tickets for that game are going for as high as $4800?

I am NOT much of a photographer.
I love old courthouses. When I drive into another county and see one like those that Richard Weisser has photographed in Georgia I think of the movie 'Back to the Future.' The domes, pediments, columns and the clock towers in these buildings are so appealing.

I saw the Real Living HER $8000 countdown clock first on Thursday. Friday morning the countdown clock was missing. Sometime Friday the countdown clock on Real Living HER was back and I thought I got a screen shot of it... 114 days. Saturday morning the clock is again MIA.
So are there 114 days left? or 113 days left?

Z is for Zillow. I never watch the 6:00 News but an email that Harley Rouda Jr. was going to talk about Zillow and Cyberhomes on NBC4 6:00 news got me sitting down in front of the tube.
I wondered why he was talking about Zillow and Cyberhomes...

April to May 2009 Columbus home prices rose according to a report from Radar Logic.
Radar Logic looks at a composite of 25 cities. 22 of the 25 cities in the composite rose in price between April and May 2009. All 16 pages of the Radar Logic report .pdf
The Ohio Association of REALTORS in their weekly newsletter to members shared the top ten metropolitan areas of those Radar Logic considers.

No I was not conducting a scavenger hunt authorized or unauthorized at Polaris Fashion Place Mall. I was taking photos. The very polite security manager said no one can take photos for security reasons. To paraphrase, his next remark... they can't just restrict the terrorist from taking photos, therefor they must restrict everyone from taking photos.
I did not see it posted anywhere at Polaris (I was outside in the Lifestyle Center not in the enclosed mall) but I do find it online after being told.

This week the list says "There are 169 Open Houses available." That number is subject to change! It often goes up.
