We all start the year with a bang, Have our business plan in place, exciting new ways to prospect, the whole nine yards!

SO!  How is your shaping up?  Are your meeting, or exceeding your goals?  Are you sticking to your prospecting plan like you planned?   I am curious to see how you are doing!

Our year so far, we are going to meet our goals with what we have closed, and  what we have on the books.  So now we are working to exceed our goals!

We did a great job of sticking to our business plan, and prospecting, up until the last month.  You know how it is, you get busy with business, and do not make time to prospect.  BIG mistake! SO!  I am back at my plan!  I will keep you posted on how it is going!  Despite this being one of the worst years real estate wise here in Minnesota, we are having one of our better years!!

This is the first installment in "Discover Minnesota"!  Look for more installments to follow!

Check out beautiful downtown Hastings this Saturday Night!  July 28th 2007!

Located just an hour South of North Branch Minnesota, you will find the quaint old river town of Hastings!

Hastings Minnesota!  Known for the only Spiral Bridge over the Mississippi River!

This is the second year of the "Classic Car Drive in!"  This is a fun free event!  I grew up in Hastings Minnesota, and my parents still live there, we were visiting them a couple weeks ago, and they brought up the car show!  We went to this FREE event and had a BLAST!  Located in the historic downtown district bordering the Missippi River, with the sounds of classic Rock playing from every corner, you feel like you are back in the 50's and 60's!

Historic 2nd Street.

Old fashioned soda shops, ice cream parlors, classic rock music, and the sounds of hot rods as they make their way out of town and across the Mississippi River are all the back drop of this Rootin Tootin good time!  If you can not make it this Saturday, Do not fret!  This event happens every other Saturday Night through the summer!

If you want, make a weekend out of it!  With Hastings being at the confluence of the St Croix and Mississippi Rivers, bring the boat and enjoy everything the river has to offer!  Another Day on the river!

Or, sample and tour some of the colorful History in the area.  Take a drive around town and look at the interesting archetecture of the differnt old homes, or take a tour of the Leduc Mansion! No stop in hastings would be complete with out stopping at the breath taking Vermillion Falls!

East Rush Lake

Taking off from Flickabirds!

Finally!  Some gorgeous weather!  Weather in the '80s and calm windsmade for some.....Alright fishing...Only 4 limits were brought to the scales. The team with the biggest bag, was our points leader Tim Lindstrom and his partner Kent Minke!  Together they weighed in 13.46lbs.  Close behind in second was the team of Les Cleveland & Jeff Pfeffer with 5 bass for 13.36 lbs.  Third went to Korey Sybrant & Jake Piehl with 13.04lbs.  Big bass of 4.38 went to Bobby Foster and Chris Wosika with a 4.38 beauty!  Unfortunately Husband/Wife team of Rob & Sheryl Christensen were not able to make it to weigh in because of a blown hub in the prop.  Talking with Rob, they had a nice bag including one just a hair under 5 lbs.

Rush Lake Wednesday Night Bass League!

(Now in our 5th summer!)

 July 12th 2007

Goose Lake

Go figure!  Another wild front rolled through dropping the temps and buckets of rain, plus high winds from the North West!  Made fishing tough on the main part of Goose.  Some of our anglers were able to put together good patterns on big fish in spite of the weather.  This weeks winners were Dean & Tracey Shinler with a 5 bag limit of 16.46lbs!  Second place went too Jeff Pfeffer & Les Cleveland with 5 fish for 14.46lbs.   Third place went to John Schlee & John Schlee Jr with 5 fish for 14.38 lbs, anchored by a 5.70 pig that was big bass for the night as well!

Today!  Beautiful day in minnesota!  Perhaps you saw my blog yesterday!

I am a FULL service Realtor in North Branch, Minnesota! REALLY Full Service!!! hehe!

A day in the life of a full service Realtor!

Get to our office in North Branch, and one of our first messages, is an agent dropped a key to the house, and "clink..clink...clink" it bounces underneath the patio and out of site.  At least the agent said she was sorry.  Next message, "Cory, it is 8am and I am standing in front of your listing" Guess which one!  "I opened the lock box and there is no key?"  So, track the buyers agent down, and with a quick stop at the local hardware store for a hammer and I am off!  55 Minutes later, I get to the house we have for sale in Oak Grove, and thankfully buyer and his agent are still there!  So, we start pulling deck boards, for another 25 minutes until "Eureka"!  Found it!

Get back to the office, and a buyer who is looking at a piece of land for development, asked if I would stop out at the property and measure from the lake.  This property is located in Chisago County, and DNR rules are that setbacks are 150' from ordinary high water mark for "Environmental" lakes.  So! Off I am again!  So, get to the property, and only thing seperating me from the lake is......A large barbed wire fence, and a bull!  Not sure how to communicate with a bull....so, I casually walk into the fenced off area, and proceed cautiosly to the other side.  Thankfully he was a nice bull!  Get to the other side, and try shimmying my way through the fence to get to the lake, and......I get stuck!  Painfully stuck!  Every time I move, a different barb pierces me. To add insult too injury, seller is there, see's my predicament, comes out laughing and frees me.  Me, and my torn and bloody shirt, and my torn and bloody pants, minus the crotch in the pants!  YES, I am a full service Realtor!

A day in the life of a full service Realtor!

Yesterday I just had to chuckle, day started with a frantic call from a seller of ours.  To back up the story, she insisted when we listed her home for sale, that we use an electronic lock box, the kind that needs the key pad to open.  In our area, the old tradional numeric push button lock boxes are more convenient to use.  We told her, that it is nice, just in case you need to get in your house, we can give you the code and unlock the door!  Well, this morning, she goes to her car, starts it, and forgot her coffee, she hops out of the car with it running, closes the door, and that is when she heard that sound.  You know the one, your locks just engaged on the door!  So, her car is locked with keys inside, and , yep you guessed it, the house keys are in the car as well, along with her cell phone!  She finds a neighbor home, uses their phone to call, guees who!  Her Realtor, Cory!  So....I scoot over and unlock her home....She gets to work an hour late.  She said she will ALWAYS listen to her Realtor now!

10AM  Buyers of a home we sold a few months ago, shows up and says that our sellers lied on the disclosure statement.  The buyers of this home moved up to a Chisago County acreage property from Minneapolis.  Mrs. buyer whips out the disclosure statement and says "Look at line 70 'are you aware of any insect/animal/pest infestation', they checked no!"  This home is gorgeous!  I am thinking, I don't think there is any pest issues?  Mr Buyer goes on too say, "Every evening right at sundown, the mosquitos come out for an hour, and we are forced to go inside!" I had to stifle my laugh when they said that, Living in Minneapolis, they are not used to mosquitos, I explained to them, that out here mosquitos are kind of the way it is for a few months.  After more talk about their new home, we got the situation resolved, and they left happy, inviting my wife and I out for a bbq!  Told them we would bring the bug spray!

It was a great day, with just a few funny wrinkles!
