Plant Smart with Connecticut Native Plants.
Planting native plants in Connecticut or your specific state is a smart move because these plants need less watering, fertilizer and pesticides to flourish. The second huge benefit is that they support the local wildlife providing food and shelter to not only birds but insects, butterflies, bees and ground animals.
Fill bird feeder and feed the birds for a day, plant native plants and feed birds for years.
Wildlife habitat needs cover to survive, cluster plants creating thickets are good as well as evergreen trees and bushes that provide year round cover.

Spring is just around the corner here in Connecticut and when it comes to gardening around the home remember you can plant many beautiful plants that are eatable as well. Some of our favorites are herbs for cooking, vegetables for meals and berry bushes for deserts.
