Hello All! Many of you know, (and some of you don't ! ), that aside from my "Realtor Showcase" Slideshows, I have started making notecards from my ever growing photo collection. My work is inspired by my love of nature, and my desire to capture a beautiful moment in time, that once gone, is gone forever. The Garden of the Gods was dedicated as a city park in 1909 by the children of Charles Elliot Perkins. Perkins was a friend of General Palmer, who founded Colorado Springs, and encouraged Perkins to purchase the land that is The Garden of the Gods.  After his death, his family honored his request and gave the land to the City of Colorado Springs to be used as a park, on the condition that it would remain free forever to all visitors.

A natural formation of the clay, not a carving! This was photographed in 'The Paint Mines' - East of Colorado Springs, near a town called Calhan. When I first saw it, I thought it was a carving - but NO! It is a natural formation. I was duly impressed!

                       Creating a Signature Brush in Photoshop          This is really easy to do, and makes signing your photographs a snap! First, go to File, click New
Choose a title, (how about 'Signature Brush'? :)
Choose Transparent Background, the size is not important - maybe just go with the photoshop default - and click OK.

 
You'll have a screen ready for you to type in your signature.

Colorado got hit with a major snow storm this week. Can't complain, we need the moisture. But all that snow comes with an unwelcome chore. Shoveling. Luckily, I have a snow blower. It runs on kibble.

Sunrise - Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge, San Luis Valley Colorado  
The San Luis Valley in southern Colorado is an amazing opportunity for photographing nature and wildlife. I just spent two days going nuts with my camera, and contrary to my personal nature, was even awake before dawn and standing in the middle of the Alamosa National Wildlife Refuge as the sun came up over the wetlands.

So you have a great landscape shot, but the sky is washed out, or gray. Here's a very easy fix for a photograph with an open and uncomplicated sky.
