It's been a while, so I thought I'd post some pictures showing just how picturesque the Eagle Ridge Golf Community truly is. Yesterday was one of those glorious days when I saw a lot of people walking, playing tennis, and having their kids play in the park. It was what I refer to as a "Chamber of Commerce Day" and being the day after a holiday, the general mood of the people outdoors was refreshing. Well, maybe I'm being optimistic, but I don't think I'm being foolish. I wish I could say the fundamentals of the economy are strong, but they are not. However, with government intervention, and a big return to a possibility of restoring some confidence in the housing market, all the low hanging fruit will be gone, and then people will not price their home on a 50% drop (for example) in the price of houses throuighout an entire community... On Sunday, September 14, 2008 the residents held their annual golf tournament. The money collected is used to sponsor charity, and this year's charities were Hospice of the Valley and Mt. Madonna YMCA. The exact figure is not in yet, but apparentl;y we raised almost $4,000 for these two fine charities. Nancy and Gary DFrimann were golf committee chairpersons, and would like to thank all the volunteers for a successful day, and also the many, many sponsors.

Recently, Money magazine released its annual 100 Best Places to Live list. This is compiled from throughout the United States. I have added a link, comparing Gilroy to the top 10. Gilroy did not do too badly, actually quite well in my opinion, with the possible exception of housing prices. Gilroy being in proximity of Silicon Valley, perhaps that was to be expected.
