The Truth Some Real Estate Agents Don't Want You To Know
I overheard an agent on the phone the other day.  Someone wanted her to "run over and show her this house." 
The agent said "Why would I do that?  You aren't my client.  Sure, I could show you the house but I'm representing the seller.  You need to find an agent to represent you.  What if you like the house, then what?  You'd have to go out and find a buyer's agent to write the offer. You don't want me to write it for you, do you?  Remember, I represent the seller.  Go find an agent to represent you, let them do their job, and they'll call me if you decide that's the house you want to buy."
This agent is one of the most outspoken people I know.  She was being honest and giving good advice.  It may sound blunt to some but she was actually telling the potential buyer what was in his best interest.
