al: Huntsville Alabama Real Estate Reports-Buyers are Buying! - 07/01/12 02:29 AM
Where has 2012 gone?   The first half of 2012 is nearly behind us and I took a brief look at what is shaping up to be a recovery year for the Huntsville Real Estate Market.
I have tracked the sales data back to 2006, when our market was nearing its all time peak and I’m happy to announce  …BUYERS ARE BUYING! The following chart shows Huntsville Home Sales for the first 5 months of the proceeding 6 years, and while we will likely not obtain home sales approaching our peak years, the current trend is in the right direction; with 2012 likely to out … (2 comments)

Under Contract  Cedar Creek Subdivision Huntsville AL 35806

108 Cedar Falls Court Huntsville Alabama is now under contract.  With an 18 month supply of homes on the market when we listed, I was thrilled to get a great offer.  The seller was relieved!  I had warned him that it could be a long ride, unless we priced it to the market.  And that is just what the owner of this Cedar Creek Subdivision home in Huntsville did.

Christmas Tree Recycling Huntsville, AL

As the New Year begins, it’s time to take down the tree...ah, the much dreaded job by many of us.

If you purchased a real tree this year, discarding after the Holidays can be a chore.  Thanks to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens, you can simply drop it off and they will take care of the rest. Be sure to  remove the stand all ornaments and lights.

Huntsville Botanical Gardens will be turning these trees into mulch, which will be offered free to area residents while supplies last!

The Best Christmas Light Displays in Huntsville Al!

With Christmas in full swing, looking at the many gorgeous Christmas lights in Huntsville is a large part of the celebration.

One of our family traditions is to torture the men in our family and drive for hours looking at the gorgeous lights...we (the women) just know they secretly love doing this but are too afraid to admit it, lol.  We all pile into one car.  It's a tight squeeze but oh so worth it!

al: Where to buy a Christmas Tree in Huntsville Al - 12/06/10 08:38 AM

Christmas is a time of wonderful traditions, from Gingerbread house’s and Christmas Carole's, to Candy Canes and Mistletoe.  My favorite of all traditions is the Christmas Tree.

Many of us have traditions that run generations deep in our families.  Since I can remember, we would buy the largest “real” tree we could find and it was a family event.  An event I remember with warmth to this day and a tradition that is now being carried on through my children.

With Christmas fast approaching, it is time to trek out an find that perfect tree.  Grab the … (2 comments)

Haunted Houses in Huntsville Alabama

Halloween takes me back to my teen years and brings back so many fond memories.  Halloween was all about Haunted Houses in the 70’s and the tradition continues.  I am FAR to old to pay anyone to scare me now, but I”m sure many of you aren’t.  So, here is a list I have compiled of the best haunted houses in Huntsville Al, according to my teenage daughter!  Both are new to Huntsville this year.

al: Huntsville Alabama Real Estate and the Mexican Standoff! - 12/20/08 10:21 AM
Mexican standoff, a term often used to describe a stalemate or impasse in which no party can act in a way that ensures victory, is an appropriate term to describe the situation between buyers and sellers in our current Huntsville Real Estate market.
Many sellers are holding on to the dreams of 2005-2006 and asking for peak market prices, while buyers want foreclosure prices on every property, regardless of condition. Many want to wait until prices drop even further, trying to pick a bottom in the local market.
Sellers, depending on the price of your home, you may have to be creative and … (12 comments)

al: Knox Creek Subdivision, Madison Alabama - 08/09/08 09:22 AM
This unique little neighborhood has been a long time favorite of First Time Home Buyers and Real Estate Investors alike. Its location is also somewhat unique, just a couple of blocks from Hwy 72 and 2-3 miles from one of Madison's major shopping areas. It is located on the Huntsville / Madison city limits off of Balch Road...(there are some strange boundaries) and is found on the MLS in the Northwest Huntsville Area. The school system supports the neighborhood via the Providence K-8 and Columbia High Schools.  http://www.hsv.k12.al.us/schools/k-8/providence/index.htm
