Since the weather here in Fort Wayne was close to 50 degrees (yes, 50!!) on New Year's Eve, I decided to put a sweatshirt on, start a fire, and hang out back with my two doggies. As I stared at the fire my mind drifted and I started to reflect on one of the best years of my entire life. Here are a few highlights.
My son turned 18. It seems like he grew up overnight. He is a Senior now and will be heading off to college next year. His dream of joining the Marines and (6 comments)
This 13 year old home features 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathrooms, 2,113 square feet, a full finished basement, a large and private backyard, and a very spacious and open kitchen/living room area. What I'm trying to say is... THIS HOUSE IS FREAKIN SWEET! Congratulations to our buyers Jarrod and Heidi! I know you and your kids are going to LOVE your new home! (4 comments)
Ashlee and Ronnie. These two first time home buyers were a lot of fun to work with, even though we had our struggles. We had an offer accepted on what they thought was their dream home. It turned out to be a nightmare during the inspection. They were heartbroken! Thankfully we were able to get out of that first deal and just a short time later we found their REAL dream home in the Huntertown (8 comments)
Last week I went to our company Christmas party. I'm not a huge fan of these gatherings, but my Broker told me there would be beer and bacon, so I went. The food was fantastic! After listening to some "Holy crap I am such an awesome Realtor" stories from a few in the "Loud" group, we all wandered into the living room for some Christmas games (and another beer). I got to sit next to "Tommy". Tommy was a decent producer a few years ago, so I just assumed that he was having another pretty good year. (51 comments)
This 15 year old home features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 1,877 square feet, a very private backyard with a nice patio out back, and a very open living area. Congratulations to our happy home sellers! Wait. I'm not done. Want to hear something really cool? The clients name is JARROD CHRISTENSEN. (That's almost the same as mine! How cool is that??) Buyer Loyalty. I Can't Believe What This Guy Just Did! - 12/13/11 11:53 AM
Last March Kent walked into our RE/MAX office. He announced that he was moving to Fort Wayne soon and was part of the local GM Plant transfers, and that he needed a Realtor®. He sat down with my wife Amanda and they had a discussion about the local market, they looked at some homes online, and she sent him to our favorite lender. Shameless plug here: Metro Mortgage and Insurance. 260.436.8101. Kent knew exactly what he wanted and what part of Fort Wayne he wanted to live in. There wasn't much out there that fit his criteria. They viewed (11 comments)
YOU'RE FIRED! I heard these words the other day and I couldn't have been happier. Here's the story... "Matt" called me a few weeks ago. He said that he was tired of renting and was finally ready to buy. I sent him to a lender and we were on our way. Matt was in his early 20s and needed his parent's approval. He asked if I minded if they came along for the showings. I showed them four homes on the first day. Matt loved one of them, but wanted to wait a day to think about (244 comments)
SOLD! YES! Today is a slow day. We just got an accepted offer on one of our listings, so I will be delivering a SOLD sign (like the one above) to that listing. It will also give me an excuse to hang out with our lovely seller Nancy. We love Nancy!!! After that I am going to have a buyer's consultation with our new first time home buyers. After that I may grab my beautiful bride and take her out for dinner. It's going to be a good day. OH! I almost forgot. I'm meeting with my internet guy to (7 comments)
I got a call from a lender this morning. She told me that she was looking around online and found our information all over the place. Here is how the conversation went. MB: Hi Jared! I just wanted to call and introduce myself. I am Mary The Mortgage Gal and I work with Giant Bank That Doesn't Really Give A Crap About The Individual. Can I please tell you about some of the programs we have to offer? Me: Sure thing. I have about five minutes. Fire away! Then she went on to tell me about 203 K (12 comments)
Ashley and family. They were so much fun to work with and SO excited when they finally got to move in. I'll never forget the moment we walked into their home for the first time. They knew it was the perfect home for them. As much as I enjoyed working with them... Ashley's son always gave me a hard time for being a Cubs fan. I saw them at the grocery store a few weeks ago and he walked right up to me, gave me a high five, and then told me the Cubs still suck. (18 comments)
