Since the weather here in Fort Wayne was close to 50 degrees (yes, 50!!) on New Year's Eve, I decided to put a sweatshirt on, start a fire, and hang out back with my two doggies.  As I stared at the fire my mind drifted and I started to reflect on one of the best years of my entire life.  Here are a few highlights.

Ashlee and Ronnie.  These two first time home buyers were a lot of fun to work with, even though we had our struggles.  We had an offer accepted on what they thought was their dream home.  It turned out to be a nightmare during the inspection.  They were heartbroken!

Last week I went to our company Christmas party.  I'm not a huge fan of these gatherings, but my Broker told me there would be beer and bacon, so I went.  
The food was fantastic! 
After listening to some "Holy crap I am such an awesome Realtor" stories from a few in the "Loud" group, we all wandered into the living room for some Christmas games (and another beer).  
I got to sit next to "Tommy".  Tommy was a decent producer a few years ago, so I just assumed that he was having another pretty good year. … (51 comments)

Last March Kent walked into our RE/MAX office.  He announced that he was moving to Fort Wayne soon and was part of the local GM Plant transfers, and that he needed a Realtor®.

YOU'RE FIRED!  I heard these words the other day and I couldn't have been happier.  Here's the story...  
"Matt" called me a few weeks ago.  He said that he was tired of renting and was finally ready to buy.  I sent him to a lender and we were on our way.  
Matt was in his early 20s and needed his parent's approval.  He asked if I minded if they came along for the showings.

SOLD!  YES!
Today is a slow day.  We just got an accepted offer on one of our listings, so I will be delivering a SOLD sign (like the one above) to that listing.  It will also give me an excuse to hang out with our lovely seller Nancy.  We love Nancy!!!
After that I am going to have a buyer's consultation with our new first time home buyers.
After that I may grab my beautiful bride and take her out for dinner.  It's going to be a good day.

 I got a call from a lender this morning.  She told me that she was looking around online and found our information all over the place.  Here is how the conversation went.

Ashley and family.  They were so much fun to work with and SO excited when they finally got to move in.  I'll never forget the moment we walked into their home for the first time.  They knew it was the perfect home for them.
