Taconic Farms is a large facility in Germantown Columbia County New York. This is no ordinary farm, don't expect to find cows and rows of corns. This is a place where serious research specimens are bred; yes rodents for research. The facility is commonly referred to by the locals as the rat farm. It is impossible to travel around the Hudson Valley and not encounter the name Livingston. The Livingston family were the big land owners during the 1700-1800. Teviotdale in the hamlet of Linlithgo and township of Livingston was constructed on 500 acres in 1773 and was the country home of Walter Livingston and his son-in-law Robert Fulton, the steam boat Fulton.
