We move towards.......Colin Powell - 04/05/11 08:37 AM
We move towards and become that which we think about. A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Colin PowellWhen asked to describe his road to success, Secretary of State Powell answered, "I was born in Harlem, raised in the South Bronx, went to public school, got out of public college, went into the Army, and then I just stuck with it". There are a couple of key points that I'd like to point out that I believe are critical for anyone in pursuit of their dreams. First, Mr. Powell was raised in Harlem and (3 comments)
We move towards.............Norman Vincent Peale - 04/04/11 07:54 AM
We move towards and become that which we think about. When does your thought, idea or desire become an actionable event? "If you put off everything till you're sure of it, you'll never get anything done." Norman Vincent Peale I know there are times when I come up with what seems like a good idea yet I don't act on it for months. I'm sure that part of the reason for not moving forward with it is fear of not knowing how it will all come together. I tend to want to gather as much information as I can before I "go (6 comments)
Relaxing at Skamania Lodge in the Columbia River Gorge - 04/03/11 04:48 PM
Anne and I decided to go for a drive up the Columbia River Gorge and ended up at Skamania Lodge. We had a relaxing time eating lunch by one of two awesome fireplaces. Their Sunday Brunch is more than outstanding. The Columbia River Gorge is known for its outdoor recreational opportunities. Wind surfing on the Columbia River is world famous. During the day, we drove through Bingen, Washington, crossed over to Hood River, Oregon and ended up at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, back on the Washington side of the Columbia. The Columbia River Gorge is a natural beauty that (2 comments)

We move toward and become that which we think about. You can't build a reputation on what you are going to do. Henry Ford The clearer the goal, the more vivid the picture we have of what we want. It is vitally important to make a plan to obtain the goal. The next step is to put into action and consistently goal after it. How many people do you know find it easy to say one of three little underachieving words; coulda, woulda or shoulda? (2 comments)
We move towards.......Bear Bryant - 04/02/11 09:02 AM
We move towards and become that which we think about. Goals, goals and then more goals. Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world. Set a goal and don't quit until you attain it. When you do attain it, set another goal, and don't quit until you reach it. Never quit. Bear Bryant It was 1974 and I was a year away from graduating from college, aspiring to become a high school teacher and football coach, when I heard Coach Bryant speak at a football clinic in Seattle. In his 25 years as the head coach at the University of Alabama, (2 comments)
We move towards....... - 04/01/11 11:40 AM
We move towards and become that which we think about. Reflect on something you have focused on with alot of intensity. Did it become a reality? Did you get it? Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later. Og Mandino How soon will the harvest come? A few hours? Days? Or even years? When I think of planting and harvesting, at the top of my list is my relationship with my grandchildren. Kindness, love and trust are seeds that I plant every chance I get them. Will it come back to me? Already is happening. I hope (5 comments)
