4th of July Celebrations are on (as of now) in the towns between Denver and Boulder. It's a bit of a surprise, considering there are currently 7 10 wildfires burning in Colorado. I'm sure safety concerns will be strictly adhered to.
ARVADA Count on Arvada for fireworks, live music, kids' amusements, a classic car show, a military display, and great food. Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying fireworks with my family and a few friends in Denver, with the beautiful City and County Building in the picture. The Colorado Symphony Orchestra entertained a crowd of over 5,000 before the light show started, vendors sold food and goodies. We got sprinkled by rain drops a couple of times, but they conveniently stopped before the explosions of light began. Awww...No Fireworks in Lafayette or Louisville? Come on down to Arvada! We have a great show every year, and the crowd's a lot of fun too. People of all ages getting patriotic together and having fun for free! This has been going on for 30 years - isn't it time you joined in? Come early and visit Old Towne Arvada, check out the Classic Car show, there'll be music and concession stands. Holidays are a great excuse for celebrating...especially the 4th of July. Out here in the country...well...we have our own way of doing things. So...I thought I might pass on some of these helpful hints for the holidays: If you can't find your horseshoes for the family picnic...you might try this: If you're expecting a crowd for your cook out and run out of wienie sticks...try this: Don't have a grill? I thought it would be fun to see what my friends who live in the towns northwest of Denver are doing for 4th of July - Independence Day. So I emailed a bunch of them and asked. Here's what they're planning, read through for ideas of your own.
