Wordless Wednesday...Quick Change Artist

This is a photo of a lizard I took over Spring Break while visiting Pedernales Falls State Park with my son.
This little guy was amazing...
When on the sand, he became tan with spots...
When on the tree, he became brown with spots...
When on the grass, he became green...
When on the rocks, he became grey...
What a fascinating little fellow!

Speechless Sunday...Pedernales Falls State Park, a Texas Treasure!

This past week was my son's spring break and since his coast trip didn't pan out and I had real estate business to attend to, we opted to take a day and have a staycation!  We visited Pedernales Falls State Park a little over an hour away from our home in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. A place that my dad took me to several times in my youth...I had fond memories of it and we did a road trip and had a blast...enjoy the photos of this wonderful natural haven in … (3 comments)

Speechless Sunday...Spring is Coming!
I am blessed to be able to call the Texas Hill Country home, a gorgeous place where I live, work and play!  Nothing is more amazing than the tapestry of the Texas wildflowers in the Spring!  They will be coming out very soon and I can hardly wait!!!  This is a shot I took at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin Texas.  Life is GOOD!

texas hill country: Snow Day at the Lake!!! - 02/04/11 09:27 AM
Snow Day at the Lake!!!

After several days of below freezing temperatures (which is not normal for Canyon Lake Texas) we awoke today to a Winter Wonderland and an official “Snow Day” with the kids home from school, businesses closed and roads closed.
Canyon Lake Texas is a rural resort community on the Guadalupe River in the Hill Country region.  We are used to highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s this time of year.  So everyone gets excited when the temps dip and even more so when the white stuff from above covers our area.

A few shots of my 13 year old son from the recent photo shoot we did for his 8th grade year.  He is first chair trombone in the MVMS Honor Band and Brass Section Leader on the Band Leadership Team, he is a Boy Scout Star Rank working on Life Scout Rank, plays on the MVMS Tennis Team and just an all around great kid...I am blessed!

Wordless Wednesday...End of Summer...
I live in an amazing place that is just plain gorgeous!  Canyon Lake, Texas is a resort community in the heart of the Hill Country.  I wake up every day and look at this lake!  AWESOME!  We went out on the boat to do one last wake board run at the end of September and this is what the lake looked like from the bow of the boat.
If you ever find yourself wanting a second home on a beautiful lake in God's country...or you just need to relocate to Central Texas...Call me!  I will come … (8 comments)

Easter Island Heads in Texas!
Just outside Kerrville Texas near Hunt is a replica of Stonehenge in a big field.  On either side of the Lone Star version of Stonehenge are two Easter Island Head replicas.  This is a fun place to stop and take photos with family and friends!
My son and I took a drive out to Hunt one Saturday and shot some fun photos and a few serious ones too!  Here are the heads in black and white!

Speechless Sunday...Stonehenge Replica in Hunt, Texas.
Hunt, Texas is a little community located just outside of Kerrville in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.  It is a peaceful and beautiful place where nature abounds.  The replica of Stonehenge was built by a local rancher and is there for viewing and photo ops along with two replicas of Easter Island Heads.

texas hill country: Scam Alert in Texas - 07/20/09 01:25 PM
Scam Alert:
The Texas Department of Public Safety is urging Texas residents to make sure that any alarm salesperson, company or alarm installer that they hire is licensed by the Private Security Bureau.
The Private Security Bureau has initiated investigations in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin following reports that numerous unlicensed salespersons, installers and companies have been aggressively marketing their services to residents in those cities—primarily going door to door in neighborhoods.
DPS is working with the alarm industry trade associations to investigate these claims, which generally increase in the summertime. “If someone offering alarm-related services shows up at your … (1 comments)

The Berges Fest is moving back to Herff Park/Kendall County Fair Grounds this year for a step back to the past.  For those of us who grew up in the Boerne area, the fairgrounds hold a certain nostalgia, from learning to dance in the old dance hall to riding the scary rides at the carnival.  Going back should be fun!

texas hill country: Another thing to love about the Texas Hill Country...Gruene Market Days! - 06/02/09 02:06 PM

SHOPPING...EVERYONE LOVES SHOPPING!  OKAY...WELL MAYBE NOT EVERYONE...
But a lot of people do and this is one event that the Texas Hill Country has to offer that is sure to make even the most reluctant shopper re-think their stance.  Gruene Market Days is a recurring event held in Gruene, Texas that occurs every third full weekend February through November and the first weekend of December from 10am to 5pm.
GRUENE MARKET DAYS IS A ECCLECTIC COLLECTION OF ARTS, CRAFTS, CREATIONS, FOODS, AND CLOTHING...

texas hill country: It's Heavy....Two Tons Heavy at Gruene Hall. - 06/01/09 03:15 PM
It's not pronounced "groo-inn" or "groo-nee" it is GREEN just like the color!
This little town has charm plus...Gruene, Texas at the edge of New Braunfels on the banks of the Guadalupe River in the Hill Country of Texas.  Probably the most famous feature in Gruene is the crown jewel of the community Gruene Hall...aka...Texas' Oldest Dance Hall.
Gruene Hall is without a doubt the home of Americana music where many big name artists got their start and often return for concerts.  It is a great place with tons of character, a laid back atmosphere, good times, good friends … (1 comments)

texas hill country: "Oh deer! Stop the car!" - 05/23/09 02:17 AM

No...that is not a type-o...I didn't mean "dear" I meant "deer" as in the furry creatures that I share my real estate market with as a REALTOR in the Texas Hill Country.

You've got to admit they are pretty cute.  In fact as I type this I am sitting at my desk looking out the window and there are a herd of the little darlings making a breakfast buffet of my back yard.  They are cute and it's about time for the babies to show up and they are just completely adorable.  But these beautiful creatures have a distructive … (15 comments)

texas hill country: Playing in Traffic! - 04/07/09 02:08 AM
This is where I live!  Okay, well not under this particular tree or in this particular field of wildflowers, but I am blessed to call the Texas Hill Country my home.  I have lived on both coasts and points in between, but I am a Texan by birth and Texas is my home and more importantly the Hill Country is my hometown!  I love this gorgeous place and all of it unique characteristics.  My favorite times of the year are the spring when the wildflowers bloom and the fall when the air turns crisp for about 3 weeks...lol!  I laugh because in … (3 comments)

texas hill country: Nothin' like fresh air and sunshine to sooth the soul... - 03/29/09 06:29 AM
It is a gorgeous day in the Texas Hill Country!  Yesterday I blogged about licking my wounds after being told I basically wasn't good enough to handle a listing.  Ouch...that kind of feedback hurts!  I generally handle negative feedback well, I have learned to let it roll off my back as my Mom and business partner has taught me to do.  I thought a lot about why that call bothered me so much yesterday because I am one of those people who is compelled to analyze where things went wrong and how I can learn, grow and get better from each … (3 comments)

texas hill country: "brush your teeth, don't take dorky pictures and don't buy truckstop curios!" - 03/21/09 09:00 AM
Some say that the definition of "mixed emotions" is watching your mother-in-law drive off a cliff in your new Mercedes...I am facing a new breed of mixed emotions this spring break...the parental kind.  My son started middle school this year which was a big change and to make matters more challenging he went from a small Christian private school to a larger public school.  I have had some adjustments to make and I think all in all, Jordan is adjusting better than I am.  I have never been an overbearing or overprotective parent because as my friends and family tell me, … (3 comments)
