Looking for a great organization to get behind here locally in Santa Barbara. Heal The Ocean should be at the top of your list for too many obvious reasons to list. What Does Heal The Ocean Do? (as taken from their website) Their philosophy is simple...The ocean can no longer be used as a dump. Heal the Ocean is doing all it can to attack all sources of ocean pollution. Their basic premise consists of lobbying the government for action on ocean-pollution issues, studying the problems themselves and recommending practical solutions. Naples Development Becoming a Reality Along the Santa Barbara Coastline? - 08/22/08 11:23 AM
After years and years of heated talks and debates, Orange County Developer, Matt Osgood, had his vision of the historic Naples Property approved by the Santa Barbara County Planning Commission this week. The outline of the plan calls for and equestrian center, several other "structures" and the alocated 72 spots for large luxury "mansion type" multi-million dollar homes stretching along the Santa Barbara Coastline from the coastal bluffs up to the local foothills. The project still needs to go through the California Coastal Commission (especially for the bluff top homes) as well as seek approval from the Board of Supervisors, scheduled for October

Cort Report for Santa Barbara, Montecito, Goleta and Carpinteria CA. Areas - July 2008 - 08/19/08 04:52 PM
Here is the Santa Barbara cort report for closed sales for July of 2008. The cort report lists all closed sales of property regardless of whether they were reported in the Santa Barbara MLS or not. This includes for sale by owners, transfers of property between family members etc. Upwards of 95+ % of all sales are reported in the MLS, where as 100% are reported in the cort report. Taking Sides on Future Path for Downtown Santa Barbara Real Estate Projects - 08/19/08 04:50 PM
As more and more larger multi-unit Santa Barbara real estate development projects get presented to the City of Santa Barbara for approval, discussions abound over the future development path the city is taking with these luxury condo projects. In layman's terms, the debate is clear and simple. Side A: Wants to have strong height restrictions in place and preserve the "beauty" of Santa Barbara Side B: Wants to avoid urban sprawl and therefore would like to build inward with less height restrictions than what currently exist In my view, the politics of this debate have not been too prevalent as far as topics of
