I have been saying for a while now that we were headed to 2004 prices, and now its here. I have looked at some of the current listings, and sure enough - they sold in 2004, for exactly what they are asking today. Thats great news for the local families, bad news for investors. Whatever it is - its here to stay for awhile.

kahakai estates: Kailua Kona Condo Market Picking up steam the last 1/4 of May

The picture was looking a little bleak just on week ago - looking at the numbers, condo sales were at 8, putting us on track for 12 - scary! But today's numbers look a lot better - we are at 18 so far, with a few more days to go. Still off from last year (33 for May) but way better than 8!
Here are the closings for May - Condos, Kailua Kona, Keauhou, West Hawaii real estate sales.

kahakai estates: Kailua Kona Real Estate - 15 homes sold MTD - 10 for over $700,000

Just crunching some of the numbers and thought I would pass them on. So far in May we have 15 homes reported as sold, that puts us on track for 20 . Last year for May we finished off with 33, so we are off by almost 33%. But what I found interesting was the fact that we now have affordable homes in Hawaii - there are 8 homes for under $400,000. and of the 15 sales - 10 of them were for over $700,000 - 5 of those 10 - were for over $1,000,000 . How long have we waited to hear these words? Kona Country Club is now accepting tee times for Febuary 1, 2016 according to Hawaii Tee Times:
8 holes, par 72, 6613 yards. All prices per person and include golf cart rental. (THE OCEAN COURSE IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS AND WILL OPEN FEBRUARY 1st 2016) Updated November 23, 2015.
