Seems like we used to have people come by for a treat and stay for a glass of wine. Even tho we don't have little ones--- we used to have a pretty good time on Halloween! But tonite--- we have 2-3 big Football games...... AND the World Series to compete with!!! NO WONDER we are staying home!! hmmmph! (5 comments)
Via Melinda Peterson Broker Realtor® Grants Pass Southern Oregon Real Estate (Real Estate Cafe): Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking... into the future! Just a reminder... don't forget to set your clocks BACK one hour tonight (Sunday November 1st) at 2:00am local standard time. And, don't forget to check the batteries in your smoke alarms! DID YOU KNOW... Benjamin Franklin first suggested Daylight Saving Time in 1784, but it was not until World War I, in 1916, when it was adopted by several counties in Europe that initially rejected the idea? Not all places in the U.S. observe daylight time? Hawaii and most of Arizona (3 comments)
La Quinta Country Club's NEW Clubhouse Opens tomorrow!! - 10/31/09 10:17 PM
As a member and homeowner in the La Quinta Country Club community we have waited over 3 years for the opening of our new Clubhouse-- Our old Clubhouse had been damaged by earthquake activity-- and we have been making do in temp facilites for a long time! Tents, trailers, mobile pods... you name it! But our wait has been worth it! To provide updates and as marketing tool for the residents here, I have recorded many videos of the property and the clubhouse to send out to fellow residents and members--- I have gotten many favorable e-mails and traffic to my (0 comments)

Via Michael LaFido (Realty Coaching Club): How To Find Good Deals As The Buyers Market Comes To An End At some point in their lives, every home buyer in America has wondered "Is now the best time to buy a home?" In this 3-minute video, NBC's The Today Show does a good job of answering the question. The conclusion? Yes, but not if you're going to overpay. The Buyers Market is ending, we learn, as home prices rise across most of the country. Pockets of opportunity remain, however, and the focused home buyer can still find a "good deal". What are you wearing for Halloween?? - 10/30/09 01:07 AM
I read a post from Shirley Parks about the top costumes for Halloween this year--- I must be out of touch, because I did'nt recognize most of them.... When I was a kid-- I picked the costume I could run the fastest in! That way I could cover more ground and come home with the MAX candy! I did'nt really care if I was spooky or cute... it was all about that pillow case full of loot! As long as I could wear my sneakers and wasn't covered in cardboard or wearing a dress.... I was happy! Wishing you a HAPPY (1 comments)

I have been working to get noticed online-- blogging, facebook, twitter, activerain, etc... I also have a Point2 web=site-- schoweproperties.com, to promote my listings and real estate services. But where I am having my real fun is my secondary site-- livethedesertlife.com..... This site is for promoting life here in the desert-- and includes local events, golf news, dining, late=nite stuff, real estate, our country club news, etc.... I don't know if I will get business from this site--- but I sure am having fun working on it and posting videos, podcasts, and super current info-- Let me know if any of you (4 comments)
Via The Lori Bowers Group: Mountains may shelter the Coachella Valley from undesirable weather patterns that affect those beyond the desert, but could protect us from the economy. Despite its resort lifestyle, the desert has felt the pain of the past 18 months. However, vast resources also put the valley on the cutting edge of what economists think will be the way out of the recession. Since the recession started the housing prices have fallen further than they had risen. Retail sales shriveled as national chains closed and left and local shops too. All three major golf tournament revenues were down more than (0 comments)
It’s happening. Bit by bit, little by little, new life is being breathed into the California real estate market. On Monday, October 26, the California Association of Realtors posted its sales and price report for the month of September, and it held some very, very encouraging news.
For the seventh straight month, resale home prices in California increased.
This stretch, which follows a period in which sales had decreased for 22 consecutive months, is a clear indicator that things really are improving. In addition to the increase in resale (2 comments)

Via The Lori Bowers Group: We moved our office to a sleepy little village area in La Quinta, California called Old Town La Quinta about 3 years ago. There was one other real estate office in the area of about 1000 sq. ft. Since then, we have real estate row. The landlord finally gave us a larger space since 2 large companies in our area took major space in the center. There are 12+ companies within a 2 block area. The center is mainly restaurants, Small boutiques, and other professional offices. We think these real estate offices want to be here as (0 comments)

Via The Lori Bowers Group: 1. I answer the phone when it rings and if I cannot, I call back quickly. In this market, I think that counts more than anything.2. I make an effort to connect with 3 agents from other companies each day. I have made an effort to check out websites of agents presenting offers and also speak to them to know them personally. This really helps in getting offers accepted and for a smooth and easy transaction. It also build alot of trust.3. Sign calls- we have over 50 listings and I keep working to get more. (3 comments)
I had to have it! I'm not sure how it works, or IF it works-- I just wanted it for my sidebar-- So I commented on Shirley Parks from San Antonio's blog-- and what do you know?? She wrote me back, and said her husband had put it on her site. He then wrote me and gave me the html code for the widget and info on how to install it. I had problems doing it-- so wrote back--- and the then e-mailed me and sent his (3 comments)
Via The Lori Bowers Group: I was amazed when i attended this informational Summit on the Coachella Valley in Indian Wells, Ca. One of the comments that truely struck me was, If you do not have equity in your home, you are not considered a homeowner. After thinking about that comment I had to saw, it made sense even though I didnt want to hear it. The key to a recovering housing market is more jobs. But where do these jobs come from and where does the money come to invest in new companies if the people are not buying? It (6 comments)
Via The Lori Bowers Group: Here in La Quinta, we are known as a resort, desert and golfers paradise. We have people relocating from thousands of miles away and besides price, and views they always ask about neighborhoods. Being that everyone is different in what they like, dont like I always try to give them guidance but never influence their decision. After all, they have to live where they buy, not me. It will not be the end all beat all, but it helps.

Via Kimberley Kelly (HK Lane Real Estate Co.): California Sales Statistics..the Desert is Settling Down. I have witnessed this over the past summer and now continuing into the fall here in the Coachella Valley. There are certain areas with particular developments in La Quinta and Palm Desert that have actually seen very small increases in their price/sf. This, of course is due to the REO's and Short Sales in these particular parts of our Desert that have driven the prices down to a settled price/sf. They have remained there (0 comments)
Via Kimberley Kelly (HK Lane Real Estate Co.): Seller's MUST be more Aggressive! By this statement, I mean ONLY IF you really intend to sell. Even to Lease, you MUST be on top of the market..actually in front of the market. Don't get caught watching the REO's and Short Sales get all the offers. If you cannot compete realistically, then maybe it's better not to list your property at this time. If you MUST sell and can take the financial hit, then price your property aggressively! Here's an example on a small scale. I had two properties listed for lease..took both Listings (5 comments)
Via The Lori Bowers Group: I was at a seminar for the state of real estate in California and in our area yesterday. These facts I am presenting are from very well made computer calculations over many years. This is important information as we live our new life in a new economy. We all have a good life, just a different life.1.It looks like there will be 15,000-20,000 foreclosures a month in California over the next 2-3 years.2. The stimulus is working. Inflation is a concern.3. Consumers are not spending. The credit impaired younger consumers cannot spend the way the used to. The (0 comments)

Combining text, chat, video, audio and a bunch of things I haven't even thought of yet... with email... seems pretty cool. Thinking back not all that long ago, I wasn't doing most of those things seperately, much less combined. Via Florida Real Estate and Homes for Sale in the Tampa Bay area: Most Internet business is focused on taking your time and making everything perfect. But, when it comes to the Twitter, that is not the case. There are many real estate agents using Twitter to Tweet their inventory away. Did you realize that potential home buyers are also using the site to ask for help from real estate agents? From the front page of Twitter, anyone can search for tags or keywords within Tweets. These keywords are added to the Tweet with a "#" and then the word. So, if (0 comments)
