Addison's 2011 Oktoberfest
It's Oktoberfest time again in Addison!  The 2011 festivities (the 24th Annual Oktoberfest Celebration in Addison) kick off on Thursday, September 15 and run through Sunday, September 18.  There's lots to do and see this year.  The event is sponsored by Sapten, one of the six Munich breweries allowed to serve at the original Oktoberfest in Germany.
Thursday, September 15th:
German spelling bee, including English and German words associated with Oktoberfest. DAWG (Dallas Agility Working Group) Pretzel Run - dogs will run an agility course including an 80 foot pretzel tunnel. The official "tapping of the keg" is Thursday at 8:00 … (6 comments)

It's Oktoberfest time again in Addison!  The 2010 festivities (the 23rd Annual Oktoberfest Celebration in Addison) kick off on Thursday, September 16 and run through Sunday, September 19.  There's lots to do and see this year.  
Thursday, September 16th:
German spelling bee. Friday, September 17th:
The official "tapping of the keg" is Friday at 7:00 p.m.  Addison Mayor Joe Chow will tap the first keg of Spaten from Germany, hopefully without spilling any bier.  Maxwell had a silver hammer, but the Mayor will use a wooden mallet to hammer the bronze spout into the keg.   It's Karaoke gone … (3 comments)

Polka-thon!  German spelling bee. Largest "Chicken Dance" in Texas. Friday, September 20th:

Thursday, September 18th:
German spelling bee championship. Register in the Schloss Addison tent from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. The registration table will be located on the right hand of the stage. Participants will be announced at 6:45 pm and must be present in the Schloss Addison tent to participate.  Friday, September 19th:

oktoberfest: Addison's Largest Simultaneous Yodel - 09/14/07 09:47 AM
It's Oktoberfest time again in Addison!  The 2007 festivities (the 20th Annual Oktoberfest Celebration in Addison) kick off on Thursday, September 20 and run through Sunday, September 23.  There's lots to do and see this year, including an attempt to shatter the world record for the Largest Simultaneous Yodel.  The folks at the Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand for the event, Friday, September 21.  Registration starts at 8:00, with the yodel at 9:00pm.
