Oceanfront residential houses market update - Kihei Maui Hawaii What's been selling in the oceanfront residential real estate market in the past year? Looking back 12 months in our MLS, here's what I find... Sold in Kihei, oceanfront: 3016 S. Kihei Rd. sold for $8,000,000 on 8/15/16. Originally listed for $12,000,000 the previous October, once the price came down to around $9,000,000 a serious cash buyer made his move. Just a simple 2BD/1.5BA 976 sf home on a big half acre lot right on Keawakapu Beach. Great development potential! 1520 Halama St. sold for $3,600,000 on 4/29/16. Food Trucks near the airport on Maui. When you're in Kahului Maui and ready for a quick lunch, there's a food truck court closeby. You can find the entrance off Haleakala Highway, across from the Costco gas station. 591 Haleakala Highway that is. Lots of free parking! When we went last week three food trucks were operating and we chose the one selling fresh raw and cooked fish... Like Poke? Update - this shop has closed. Now it's Donut Dynamite! It's great to see this new bakery in Wailuku is doing well with their offerings of Chinese style steamed buns, or Manapua. They've been open about a year and have a brisk business selling these local favorites. Not just your typical pork or char siu buns here, they have some unique fillings you won't find just anywhere. Coming soon to Paia Maui - Hana Ranch Provisions Just a sneak peek at what's coming soon to the beach town of Paia, on Maui's north shore. Formerly DaZoo Restaurant, which was formerly Moana Bakery and Cafe... will soon be Hana Ranch Provisions Store where you can grab a picnic to go or sit down and eat. They claim to offer produce and other things grown on the ranch in Hana, which would be nice. We always look forward to a new place to eat in Paia, and will give this one a try too. Tie-dye pink hibiscus changes color throughout the day We love to grow colorful tropical flowers in Haiku Maui and this pink tie-dye variety is really unusual. As you know, hibiscus flowers bloom for one day and they stay fresh on or off the plant. In the morning this one is a bright solid pink, but by the end of the day it has faded to a stripey tie-dye effect.
