As most of you know, summer is somewhat hard to get through when you have kids and yet, a lot of fun...it's when we take the time to smell the roses! We spent Memorial Day weekend in Williams Arizona. Williams is a quaint little historic town just off the I-40 in Northern Arizona on route 66. Williams reminds me of the Disney movie 'Cars.' :) iit's just that cute! Bearizona is a wildlife park that you drive-thru...we loved it so much, we dubbed it 'Jurassic Park.' 100th Anniversary Events Salt River Project (SRP), the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Forest Service mark the 100th anniversary of Theodore Roosevelt Dam on this Friday (3/18) and Saturday(3/19). Friday (3/18) events are invitation-only and will include the opening of a time capsule placed at the dam in 1961 during a celebration of the 50th anniversary. Saturday (3/19) events are open to the public. Visitors will be able to walk across the dam, which is usually closed to the public. Have you ever wondered about that house, a Pueblo Revival house that sits in the desert on a hill as you drive on the Red Mountain 202 East? It's pretty famous and here is the history of why... The Eisendrath House is a Tempe landmark with a storied past and an exciting future. The Pueblo Revival-style home, located near College Avenue and Curry Road, was built in 1930 by Rose Eisendrath, the widow of a wealthy Chicago glove manufacturer. The Arizona Taco Festival at the Scottsdale Waterfront on October 9th, 2010, is the first stop for the National Taco Tour. 30 teams are competing to show off who makes to BEST taco. Other contests: best guacamole, salsa, and anything goes taco. There will be plenty of tequila, margaritas, cold cervezas to go around. And bring the kids, because everybody loves tacos!

You see a few weeks back, I was going to blog about the Town of Queen Creek celebrating their 20th Anniversary, (I had no idea that Queen Creek was so young!)...and I came across the history of the how the streets in Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Chandler Heights received there names...:)
