Just got this announcement from CalHFA.  This is a huge blow to First Time Home Buyers in California.  These programs help a lot of people bridge the down payment gap. I hope we get these back soon!

City down payment assistance programs have been helping many would be buyers bridge the down payment gap.  These programs may now be in jeopardy.
The changes in the real estate market are being felt at all levels.  This includes local City and County budgets, the source of funding for many of these down payment programs.
As we move into the Spring, City officials have begun the process of planning the next fiscal year's budget.  The typical fiscal year runs from July-June.  With less money coming in, there will be less money to give out.
