One word. - 08/27/09 02:12 AM
Marketing is all about perception.  Your brand is not who you are but who you are perceived to be. There are certain features and benefits attached to that perception.

I am subscribed to a service called “The Morning Minute”.  This service sends a video and PDF message to my e-mail every day at midnight (beginning new day) with the purpose to help me start my day with the “right” attitude.

Today’s thought was presented to me as a question:

“What one word would you want people to use to describe your time on this Earth once your … (14 comments)

Yahoo! Messenger and your Social Media Marketing Strategy - 08/19/09 08:13 PM
I’ve been using Yahoo! Messenger for years!  I have over 8,000 contacts on my Yahoo! account (had over 6,000 when I moved to the U.S. almost 8 years ago), so it’s a free way to keep in touch with my friends and relatives back in the Dominican Republic, as well as connecting with the Yahoo! users I’ve befriended since I moved here.
Obviously, not all my connections are on Twitter or into social networking/bookmarking, plus, I don’t get online that often to chat with friends – if you know what I mean!
As usual, life gets easier!  Now you can … (10 comments)

Should you call yourself an Expert? - 08/16/09 04:26 PM
Yes! … and Nooooo!

What is an Expert?
Copy-pasted from TheFreeDictionary.com
ex·pert     n.  A person with a high degree of skill in or knowledge of a certain subject.
Read more at Wikipedia.
It’s really NOT like being a rocket scientist! It shouldn’t be that intimidating.

Are you an Expert?
Be honest!
Are you more knowledgeable than many in your field? Do you have more experience than many in your field? Could many past and current clients attest of your skills? Do other professionals in your field refer to you? Have you “been there, done that”? … (94 comments)

What business are you in? - 08/09/09 10:23 PM
Last January, I heard Scott Bedbury’s talk about his vision in creating the Starbucks brand:  “We are not in the coffee business serving people; we’re in the people business serving coffee”.

I am a firm believer that if you create an experience around your charisma, personality and unique capabilities, you will be successful in any business, any market and any economy.

I always encourage my customers to brand themselves in a way that no matter what they decide to do (a.k.a. being in a brokerage firm vs. the other vs. opening their own), their customers will follow.  It’s … (26 comments)

Constant Contact Goes Social (and some tips from me to you) - 08/03/09 02:58 PM

Constant Contact's new features make it easier to build your list on Social Networks.
When you prepare your newsletter (which could be information on that new listing you picked up), Constant Contact allows you to archive it so it is available to you in the form of a URL (address on the World Wide Web people can go directly to view it).
What this means in terms of Real Estate is that, you can create a custom URL to advertise that listing, while adding contacts to your database.
If you are farming a particular community, you could also register a … (9 comments)

I'm getting the t-shirt... - 08/01/09 02:10 AM
