Real estate is local, but this weekend members of the National Association of Realtors, State Realtor Associations and Local Realtor Associations are all getting on board to host Open Houses of homes for sale.
There is lots of discussion about the housing market but prices have dropped, interest rates are still historically low and many economists and writers are commenting that now is maybe the best time to buy real estate. So this weekend is a great opportunity to look around and see what is available.

Sunday 5/22 we have two affordable homes Open to the public both in Devon or within spitting distance as my mother used to say.

76 Meadowbrook Rd in Strafford is a really nice Victorian style home close to Strafford station but located on a one way road that reduces traffic and gives it a really private location. This home is adorable with many great upgrades and priced currently at $459,000 for four bedrooms one ensuite in the attic with fabulous skylights for watching the night sky how much more romantic can you get. Devon, PA is right in the heart of Philadelphia's Main Line. Years ago there was a Devon Hotel, now Waterloo Gardens and the Horse Show Grounds occupy the area. On May 30th 1922 President Calvin Coolidge visited the Devon Horse Show, one of the premier and oldest horse shows in the area for multi breed horses.
Our office sits right next to the Horse Show Grounds and from May 26th through June 6th it is difficult to get into work, but fun to see all the people and activity in the area. Our office usually helps out in the hamburger stand … (1 comments)

76 meadowbrook rd: Commuting to Philadelphia from the Main Line - check out this Open House in Strafford - 05/07/11 01:41 AM
If you live on the Main Line and work in center city Philadelphia there are not too many options for getting to work. Driving you can go via the Schuylkyll along the river and take your chances on traffic, head down route 30 Lancaster Ave and take some back roads, with a couple of alternatives when you reach City Line Avenue.
Or you can take the R5 Septa line, that runs the length of the Main Line reaching out to Downingtown and Exton nowadays, when I moved here 20 years ago, many people felt the Main Line ended at Paoli, nowadays … (1 comments)
