Yes. It can. If you have a security clearance now or want to seek one, you may not get it if you have a foreclosure on your credit. Some employers will terminate you for a bad credit report (casinos for one). If you are seeking employment some industries will not hire you. Some like insurance companies will not appoint you. Short sales do not go on your credit and don’t affect your employment.
