The quiet neighborhood where I live and sell homes has had a recent rash of home invasions and robberies. Then, in another close neighborhood a few days ago, a contractor was killed by an unhappy sub who hadn't been paid. Incidents are reported quickly by e-mail throughout the area, and Sellers are concerned. An easy explanation would be to blame the current economic situation, but that doesn't allay fear while their home is on the market.
