Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Bloomin' onions they are!

Small delicate clusters sitting atop long stalks crowd together to create individual bouquets. With a mere glance, a blossom can lift the spirits and lighten the mood. And true beauty is seen in the eyes of the observer, no matter an onion or iris, nature's offerings are to be appreciated.
Happy Bloomin' Wednesday!

What do consumers REALLY, REALLY want? - 08/30/11 09:19 AM
What do consumers REALLY, REALLY want?
Local Market Knowledge
Anyone can put a Comparable Market Analysis together but are you able to sit down and discuss numbers to a potential seller? Or a buyer? Be savvy about what is happening in your local market. Be informed. You will be tested!
Effective Negotiation
Have you taken any classes or seminars that have helped you negotiate every aspect of a transaction whether it be price, conditions or sales strategy? Consumers expect some aggressiveness when discussing terms to garner the best results in a timely manner.

Motivational Monday: Try it you'll like it! - 08/29/11 08:44 AM

Motivational Monday: Try it you'll like it!
Find ways to improve your life and community through positive means. What good is it to complain about what has already been done?
Take a positive stance and surround yourself with motivated people who care to make necessary changes personally, civically and professionally.
Make a conscience decision to volunteer your time to worthy causes, get involved in local community organizations and join forces to improve your surroundings.
Create a better neighborhood and environment for yourself and others one small improvement at a time...
Try it you'll like it,
take a tip from me,

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Playful weightless puffs of haze. - 08/28/11 11:18 AM
Speechless Sunday (almost!): Playful weightless puffs of haze.

My first thought was...Tag, you're it! as these quick moving clouds scurry across the sky in a game of chase! There was fishing to be done but the skyscape intrigued me as I sat on the boat in the middle of the lake watching their morphing shapes and translucent trails.
Playful weightless puffs of haze, you amaze and raise the eyes skyward. ~WKN

Wordless Wednesday: Wispering. - 08/24/11 09:12 AM
Wordless Wednesday: Wispering.

Minty tendrils feathering out. Wispering. Vividly painting the desertscape. Wispering. Inquisitively seeking open space. Wispering. Tickley, twisty and twining strands. Wispering.
On an outing at Coral Canyon Golf Course, I hit the ball into the rough. I never did find it but instead came across this beautiful Desert Sage and it was wispering to me. It was, as you can see!
Happy Wednesday!

I got the listing the old-fashioned way. No technology. No internet. No kidding! - 08/23/11 08:49 AM
I got the listing the old-fashioned way. No technology. No internet. No kidding!
As I arrived 5 minutes early to my scheduled appointment, I was excited, thrilled and ready-to-list-this-house! I only had to convince the seller to make the best choice. The night before I improved the listing presentation by making it specific to that property and printed it out in full color and bound it professionally.
I set-up my laptop on his dining room table and couldn't connect to the internet. What?! Oh no! I remained calm and quickly explained that everything was included in the presentation that was on-line. We thoroughly … (20 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Ginormous deluge. - 08/21/11 09:51 AM
Speechless Sunday (almost!): Ginormous deluge.

While traveling back from Las Vegas to St. George, Utah, the skies changed quickly, giving way to a massive cloudburst fed simultaneously with sunshine while a ginormous deluge cascades from its center. What an unexpected and amazing sensory delight!
And have to admit, I was glad to be here as an awed spectator rather than an unwilling participant over there!
Happy Sunday to you all!

Holding hands on the way to Kindergarten - 08/20/11 12:02 PM
Holding hands on the way to Kindergarten
The fall of 1966 was the first taste of independence as I began Kindergarten. The most vivid memory was outside the classroom as Faye, my older cousin who was a teen held my hand and walked me to Fox Elementary School in Columbus, Georgia.
We had recently arrived cross-country due to my parents divorce from California, my mother and six little ones. We were all still out-of-sorts, reeling, trying to adjust to new surroundings. Her taking my hand grounded me and helped me to feel special during this most turbulent time.
At school my … (17 comments)

Thankful Thursdays: Dixie Care & Share in St. George Utah - 08/18/11 08:48 AM
Thankful Thursdays: Dixie Care & Share in St. George Utah
We have been blessed with an amazing fruit and vegetable garden this season and what better way to show appreciation than by sharing it with others? On the way down from Veyo to St. George with a large box of assorted vegetables that included: tomatoes, green peppers, skinless Armenian cucumbers, burpless cucumbers, crook neck squash and zucchini squash, I drove up to the Dixie Care & Share facility and dropped it off.

This small act of giving made the rest of my day feel effortless by lifting my spirits. Dixie Care & Share … (16 comments)

Back to School ~ Washington County School District ~ Southern Utah ~ Bus Schedules
Last year I wrote a blog on traffic conditions once school started:  Defensive Back-to-School Driving: You will be T-E-S-T-E-D! It is always a good reminder to SLOW DOWN and be extra cautious while driving in close proximity of schools. Watch for flashing lights, heed crossing guard instructions, bicyclists and young ones darting out in between cars.

Bus Schedules: The Washington County School District has developed a web site to allow parents to educate themselves of the responsibilities of their student(s) while riding the bus to and from … (8 comments)

Motivational Monday: VD - Catch it. Share it!
Now that I got your attention...
It is VISION and DETERMINATION.
Prado & Kramer's Real Estate Broker Jack Scott agrees that it's easy to be in touch of what you see your future to be, other times it's not so clear. He says, “When you get that clear vision, all that you need is the determination to achieve it”.
It’s true and as I see it…Most people who have VD are contagious and more than willing to share it . My advice is if you possess it and know some one that is missing … (17 comments)

Thankful Thursdays: Trust matters! - 08/11/11 10:02 AM
Thankful Thursdays: Trust matters!
We can all agree there is no true method to gaining trust in relationships, whether professional or personal. A great plan is to gain the consumer’s confidence, one-client-at-a-time. As you meet new people, discuss their needs and begin a new relationship, they rely on you to be:
Honest Yourself Reliable Competent Committed Trustworthy Open Building a solid business rapport requires no less than putting client’s goals in the forefront while gaining positive results in a timely manner. Building trust takes time, every time. Keep promises and satisfy your client’s realistic expectations. Trust will follow and it does … (16 comments)

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): And wait for it... - 08/10/11 09:10 AM
Wordless Wednesday (almost!): And wait for it...

Fishing is the strategy of anticipating the moment to pull your pole upward at precisely the same time a fish makes a commitment. React too soon to the tug on the line and gone is the fish. Pull too hard and you may lose your bait. Reel too fast and PING! the rigging and the fish disappear!
The best advice I am able to give regarding fishing is to wait for it...wait for it...and then BAM! A successful catch!
In my opinion: Fishing is akin to developing a relationship with a potential buyer. Part … (22 comments)

Motivational Monday: Showing up = A successful outcome!
The saying goes that in order to become successful; you must get up, dress up and show up. Doing that consistently gains positive results and create good business habits.
So when setting those listing appointments:
Be on time. Being late may present a lack of care on your behalf. Be prepared. Have your materials and presentation ready to go. Be thorough. You only get one chance on a listing appointment. Be confident. People are able to sense your positivity level. Be sharp. Know your subject matter when answering questions. And once you have the … (15 comments)

Me, take chances? No way! - 08/05/11 09:43 AM

Me, take chances? No way!
Never a risk taker. So far. So good.
Some people welcome risk by accepting its challenges and thrills. Not me.
When crossing a brisk stream, I will walk a ways to find a more narrow breach rather than taking a running jump at its widest point and chance falling in, getting injured or death-gripping the sides of the bank to avoid getting wet.
Call me a safe seeker. That is what I am.
I am the same regarding business. A well thought-out cohesive plan will get you closer to your goals eventually rather than one … (50 comments)

Thankful Thursdays: Working at the Car Wash! Yeh!

While waiting for my car to be detailed at the car wash, I overheard a woman say to her husband, "The house we were going to view was sold." I sat for a moment until she got off the phone and then asked her if she was working with an agent.
Yes, she replied. I asked for her name.
I called the agent and set up a showing appointment for her and her clients on the house I just listed in LESS THAN AN HOUR after uploading to the MLS!

MUST SEE! A rare DOUBLE RAINBOW! - 08/02/11 09:28 AM

MUST SEE! A rare DOUBLE RAINBOW!
My husband and I threw together a quick plan for a day fishing trip to Panguitch Lake, just the two of us.
We packed, hooked up the pontoon boat and away we went! Reaching the lake about 1:00 p.m., launched the boat and sat back for the rest of the day
Baiting Casting  Catching  Releasing Keeping Relaxing The day offered plenty of sunshine, clouds and then all of a sudden a squall moved in, forcing us off the lake! We also caught another beauty after the storm passed over...I guess you could say we caught … (53 comments)
