In 1938, Homer Ludden - real estate developer and state legislator - founded Surprise and named it after his hometown in Nebraska.  Originally it was a farming community of just one square mile.
Surprise incorporated in 1960, and had a population at that time of approximately 1,000 people.
Fast forward to now and the population of over 100,000 occupies 76 square miles!
Money magazine has given Surprise high marks for job growth since 2000, and a comprehensive General Plan spurs the growth of better jobs.
Recreational options include the Surprise Stadium, which hosts the Cactus League Spring Training for Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals … (0 comments)

Litchfield Park began life in 1916 in conjunction with the purchase of farm land by Goodyear Tire and Rubber to grow cotton to use in tire production.  Developed by and named (in 1926) after an executive at Goodyear, Paul Litchfield, it was the headquarters for Goodyear Farms.  In addition, it was the test site for auto, truck and tractor tires manufactured between 1931 and 1944.
Located 16 miles west of Phoenix, just north of I-10, this planned residential community has a small town feel and its own historic district adjacent to the four-star Wigwam Resort hotel.  The hotel was built in 1929 … (1 comments)

Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) has become the next target designation.  Coupled with the CLHMS, it expands the upper tier market niche to exotic overseas destinations, as well as opening the door to working with buyers from overseas. 
The EURO / US Dollar exchange rate being very favorable to the Europeans right now, as is the UK £ / US $ exchange rate favors the British, the prices on U.S. second and vacation home properties is particularly attractive, especially to avid golfers who seem to be swooping in to take advantage of bargains in Florida and Arizona.
