Home Sales are up! 20% increase in sales in La Quinta compared to 2009! In February 102 homes sold in La Quinta alone! Overall there is a 9.4% increase in home sales throughout the Coachella Valley, which is better then a decrease. Other Coachella Cities are also showing more sales for the month of February.
La Quinta 102 homes sold
Desert Hot Springs 89 homes sold
Indian Wells 19 homes sold
Rancho Mirage 42 homes sold
Although the numbers are not off the chart, we are showing signs the worm is turning!

The Bob Hope Classis in usually sunny La Quinta, California is cancelled today due to persistant rain since yesterday at 3 PM and still raining hard. This is so strange for La Quinta where the sun shines nearly everyday and warm sunshine is the name of the game. The Lori Bowers Group is hosting a charity event for K.A.S. E. (Keeping Animals Safe Everyday) The event is scheduled for Monday March 22 at Mountain View Country Club in La Quinta, Ca from 6-9 PM. Cost is $35 per person and includes a buffet dinner. Drink tickets will be sold seperatly. We will also have a silent auction, live music and a night of fun for a great cause.

With the housing prices at record lows here in our desert paradise, we are seeing many of our Canadian friends coming back to town this season and picking up a few houses as an investement. It is a domino effect, last year they bought one and this year they are picking up as many as they can. Several of our past Canadian clients are now returning with friends who want to jump on board, amazing what word of mouth does.

We as a team decorated our office for the holidays! Old Town La Quinta is having a holiday competition for all buisnesses in the area, so we decided to jump in the spirit. Friday night there is a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, caroling and food and fun from 6-9pm . We are holding an open house with cookies and cider and are looking forward to kicking off the Holiday Season.

I love where I live in La Quinta, California, but each year the holidays are challenging. People look at the holidays as time to relax and have fun. My children are grown and not living at home. The city of La Quinta is getting a new fire station. Not only is that great news for the local community and firefighters, but also it is a boost to our local economy. The City of La Quinta saw the need for local jobs and people out of work and for the first time ever, awarded a majority of the contracted work to local contractors. They were able to do this, by building the new Fire Station into 13 phases. So 8 out of the 12 contracts will be right here in our Coachella Valley.

Everyone knows what an eyesore utility boxes are, but they are necessay as we all need electricity so we live with them. The city of La Quinta has decided to hire an artist named Julie Kirk to turn these boxes into a masterpiece. Each utility box is in the process of being painted with the theme of La Quinta in mind. Mountain scenes, desert scenes, wildflowers and more. I happened to pass one on my way to work today and wow do they look nice. No longer an eyesore, but something to gaze upon as art. I got a call yesterday from a man who is going to the court house steps and buying homes. It seems the banks are now not buying the homes as much themselves. This man says in most cases as long as there is someone on the courthouse steps bidding on the home, the bank representative is letting them have it. Now this does save the bank money, but on our side it is driving down the price of homes in our market. Here in La Quinta, we are known as a resort, desert and golfers paradise. We have people relocating from thousands of miles away and besides price, and views they always ask about neighborhoods. Being that everyone is different in what they like, dont like I always try to give them guidance but never influence their decision. After all, they have to live where they buy, not me. It will not be the end all beat all, but it helps.
Have the client go to the local library and community center to see what activities are available

Ok, so our team decided it was time to find a bigger space and we found the perfect spot a few weeks ago. With all of the remodeling, construction plus keeping the real estate side of things going smoothly, i want to congratulate my team for being amazing! Moving day came fast and not only did the agents move their personal belongings, but also rolled up their sleeves and moved desks, chairs and whatever was needed. I just found out about a great program offered by The City of La Quinta and the Stewards of the Fred Wolff Bear Creek Nature Preserve and Trail. The 3rd Sat of every month you can go on a guided walk/hike with a group of others and learn something new about our great valley. For example, Geology, wildflowers, track animals, history of the La Quinta Cove and thats just to name a few.
