Time Share Questions

I just took a trip to Maui and rented a condo for a week. It was great! While in Maui I noticed there were a lot of timeshares for sale. I am thinking about buying one, but would like to hear from other people that have them. Are they a good deal or can you get a better deal just renting a time share that someone is not using. Do you have to use the timeshare the same week every year?

We bought a foreclosure time share several years ago while vacationing at Marco Island.  We bought it for $3000, mainly so we could trade it.  It has been great so far we have traded to Canada, Table Rock Lake in Missouri, Las Vegas and one here in Texas.  By buying in Marco Island all our weeks are red so that has been great for the trade value.  My sister owns three of them.  She paid a lot more than we did so I would keep your ears open for those foreclosures.
