"Agents Doing It Right" - Using Web 2.0 Effectively in Your Business

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty West Sound WA State 52404

Stacey HarmonI was recently chased down on Twitter by Stacey Harmon, Social Media Director for Cochella Valley Escrow down in La Quinta CA, and also a licensed agent with Surterre Properties in Newport Beach CA. She was attempting to politely inform me that I had been mentioned in one of her recent blog articles.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Stacey at a number of industry-related events. She is a very knowledgeable and gifted social mediaist who not only understands and deftly navigates social media, but more importantly, knows how it can be effectively and practically implemented into everyday business.

And as such, I was truly honored and humbled to be given mention in one of her recent articles she contributed to 'CV Escrow Blog' entitled:

"Realtors doing it right - Agents who effectively use Web 2.0 in their business."

Stacey mentions 5 other fellow real estate professionals in her post:

Mike Lefebvre, The Uncommon Agent, with Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty in Boston MA for his use of Video.

Kris & Steve Berg of San Diego Castles Realty in San Diego CA for Listing Information.

Andy Kaufman, MyEastBayAgent.com, of Keller Williams in Berkeley CA for Networking & Niche Marketing.

Teresa Boardman, StPaulPhotos.com, of Saint Paul Home Realty in St. Paul MN for her use of Photos.

Kristal Kraft, KristralSellsDenver.com, of Berkshire Group Realtors in Denver CO for being Consumer Focused.

All of these successful people are highly accomplished and skilled heavy-weights in the use of social media, which causes me to be even more humbled that I was mentioned among such truly distinguished colleagues.

Stacey will be presenting a session at REBarCamp Phoenix next week entitled "Nuts & Bolts" - How to get started in Social Media. You can subscribe to her ActiveRain blog, follow her on Twitter @staceyharmon or subscribe to her Real Estate & Lifestyle Blog for Coastal Orange County.

Hi Rich...I'm in the process of unsubscribing to some folks.  Some have not posted since 2007.  I must have subscribed to them when I first joined.

After subscribing to Stacey (see my comment above) I went back to cleaning up my subscription list only to find Stacey's down at the bottom of my list.  Her last post was 8/10/08.  I hope she discovers the value of AR and begins to post here again.

Rich, this is a great endorsement.  I will check out her links as there is always so much to learn and she sounds like someone who can teach us quite a bit.  Yes, your list truly is the powerhouse of social media.  Did you read Teresa's blog about how she may back off from using Twitter etc.?

Kathleen:   I have some folks on my subscription list who haven't posted in nearly 2 years! But I keep them there in the remote chance the ever return, or as a reminder to pester them into coming back. AR isn't for everyone. It's like those milk commercials... "Not everybody needs milk, but milk does have something for everybody!" Regardless, you can't ignore the SEO juice and networking power of the Rain!

Rich - What a great summary of my post you provided here.  Thank you!  As to Kathleens comment, I hope as my post is intended to show, there are a myriad of options for agents (or anyone) to succeed using social media.  I am a big fan of AR and believe it to be a very valid source of social media success, which is why I was interested in featuring it (and Rich) as an example of how to do social media right.  For me, AR hasn't been my primary social media vehicle but it doesn't deter from my endorsement of it and the effectiveness I know it can provide.  If there were just a few more hours in the day, I would love to provide more content here!

One more thing I meant to mention in my prior comment:  My most active blogging is currently the Tech Tuesday posts that I'm authoring for the CV Escrow Blog.  That is the best way to stay up to date with the topics I'm discussing:  www.CVEscrowBlog.com  Every Tuesday I do a post that is designed to educate Realtors about some technology or social media element that I think can help them build their business.
