Fellow AR stager, Melody Salazar is very cool!
My new house for the past year has sat untouched (for the most part) without me putting in all of the little "finishing touches".
I live in a beautiful Perry Home built house that has soaring ceilings and LOTS OF WALL SPACE.
I was distraught by the task of choosing color choices (and my husband was tired of listening to me)...so, I decided to call Melody Salazar of Salazar Staging. Now the only way I know her is through her blogging here on Active Rain. I figured that I was able to see some of the great transformations that she has made through her staging efforts (she has those great before and after photos) and figured that if I didn't get some help that I was going to drive myself insane (or worse yet, my husband!).
I called her and introduced myself. She must have sensed the urgency in my voice (guess I left this part out...but planning on a party 3 weeks from the time I was calling her!) we made an appointment right away.
Now you have to understand that I basically have no SKILLS whatsoever when it comes to decorating. I try a little bit of this and a little bit of that...but nothing for the most part really seems to come together, truly.
Melody spent one hour with me. She helped me pin down colors (in no time, I promise you the paint guy at Lowe's I'm sure was very happy NOT to see me anymore!) She had all kinds of tips, ideas, suggestions for me. It was funny what was a beige, blank canvas was able to come to life in my mind just by listening to her ideas. I could image everything that she was telling me to do.....I was so excited when she left.
She ordered me some paint samples, delivered them to my house and I just knew that they were MY colors! I spent the next 2 weeks SHOPPING (yes, something that is near and dear to my heart !) and found similar items to what Melody had suggested. Of course, I'm not a cool as Melody in that I didn't take any before photos (but, I can guarantee you that it was BORING!).
She helped me transform my boring house into something that really stood out, made a statement and more importantly made my house feel more like a home.
I am hooked. I know that I will be referring her my clients as she truly made something out of nothing (with not that great of an expense!).
So, being that she is to cool I just had to blog about her also!
