In our day to day lives, we have a never ending parade of moments of truth . . .
or should I say "Opportunities for moments of truth"?
Dealing in real truth can be risky.
What if the other people present don't want to HEAR the truth?
What if the truth is going to be painful (Truth hurts sometimes).
Truth telling requires sticking your neck out there.
I say: "Be a daring turtle and stick your neck out often."
Truth is very efficient.
When you speak truth, you are boiling all of the BS out of it (Whatever "it" is),
and the real art of truth telling requires a measure of tact and a good, solid dose of candor.
This is a delicate balance because most people are not prepared to deal with the REAL truth.
After all, denial is easier and less energy consumptive until the inevitable happens . . .
Truth ALWAYS shows up in the end.
The longer we deny the truth the more anxiety we feel.
Truth is extremely efficient . . .
When we deal in truth, meetings that normally take 2 hours . . . are over in 20 minutes.
Just imagine if you were able to always speak your truth without reservation.
Of course, this is heresy to most people who have been taught their whole lives to be so mindful of of other's points of view (PC - Political Correctness) that truth tellers are largely unpopular.
OMG!
Don't rock the boat by spilling out the truth!
When you know there's a dead moose under the table, everyone else ALSO knows that moose is there . . .
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just drag that moose out from under the table and DEAL WITH IT?
Adding some real estate relevance with some simple truths spoken in very efficient language.
"The fastest path to selling your house begins with painting the pastels out of those 3 bedrooms and removing the wall-paper in the kitchen and dining room."
"I am certain that at the price you want to ask for your home you will have plenty of Buyer showings. Your house will actually help other houses in the neighborhood sell because with your house at this price, the others seem to be better values."
"I understand you value the opinions of your relatives and friends when it comes to buying your new home . . . I'm assuming they won't be living with you? Let's focus on YOUR wants and needs instead of worrying so much about what others think."
"The truth is that you can meander around the city looking at houses and dreaming for the next 10 years . . . Unless you take the first step by talking to a lender about your qualification, you may never actually BUY your first home."
"The passing of time may fix your bad credit eventually. Wouldn't you like to repair your credit SOONER? This will require new financial discipline that you may need to learn. I have a Lender who can counsel you."
This is the "No Sugar Coating Zone"
Your gut knows truth and authenticity FIRST . . .
LISTEN TO YOUR GUT and SPEAK TRUTH!
When you begin peddling the truth, you'll find more success.
I'm just sayin'
