For those of you who don't know what a P.K. is...it's a soccer term... Penalty Kick. These are either taken during a game when a player is fouled "in the box" or they are taken as a means to break a tie.
When they are taken to break a tie..you have to understand that it is typically after 90 minutes of regulation play, 20 minutes of over time play..... 5 players from each team take turns taking penalty shots...it's just the player against the goalie...... Tonight the PWSI, who were the underdogs, played the Reston FC, to advance to the Virginia State Cup Semi Finals.... the game came down to...as you guessed it P.K.s......Here is the shot...my son Reid took to help win the game.....Although, the Goalie, from our team...was the hero of the day.... he stopped a P.K. during regulation play..and one in the final shoot out...this is what sports highlights are made of.
