Beaverton Oregon Giving Garden

Lately, I have to say the City of Beaverton has been on a role with giving back to the community, but today’s announcement might be their best yet! Today they announced that volunteer city staff members and community volunteers with help man 10 plots of the recently re-opened Kennedy Community Gardens. The food will be donated to the Oregon Food bank and other local services for the homeless.

Mayor Denny Doyle has recently made some major decisions that will help him get my vote this next time around. If he continues to help the community without the use of tax payer money and just plain old out of the box thinking, than this is the kind of mayor we need to see more of.

The project has been aptly named “Giving Gardens” and I’m glad that we have a mayor who cares!

Thank you Mayor Doyle!

A few seeds and some water might allow a lot of people to have a healthy diet for the summer.
