Be Transparent!

One of the most important things you can do at your Small Group meeting is be transparent. As a Group Leader, I am very intentional about modeling transparency. I’m never afraid to let the other Members know what challenges I am facing. I find when you open up as a Group Leader, it opens the door for others to feel safe. That safe atmosphere is crucial to a successful group. Because of this open atmosphere our Small Group is very transparent about our struggles and we are not afraid to share what difficulties we are having. For some of us our challenges lie in the calls; for others it’s the Pop-Bys or the notes. We try to focus on how we’ve overcome these challenges by showing our true self and being transparent. Once we are open with one another we can really synergize freely and share examples of how we work the system to Win the Day. Time-blocking, utilizing power hours, and putting the “big rocks in place first” are all examples of how we get this done.

Utilize Your Resources!

Being part of a Small Group is a wonderful benefit and resource to tap into. When our Group comes together there is a wealth of knowledge in the room. Those of us who have been in Coaching longer always try to share the tools that have helped us succeed in working by referral. It may be tracking our numbers on the website, a book that we read off Brian’s reading list or a goal-setting technique we learned at a past Turning Point. I always want to make sure that the Members of my group are aware of the tools that are available from Buffini & Company. In this changing market, I feel it is more important than ever to commit to the system, commit to attending your Small Group meetings, and commit to being transparent with your Coach. As Lou Holtz shared with us at MasterMind 2005, W-I-N can also stand for “What’s Important Now”! Staying focused, persevering, time blocking, implementing power hours, listening to Brian’s Coaching Calls, utilizing your Coaching sessions and attending Small Group meetings all add up to Winning the Day!
