Reflections on the List of Century 21 users on Twitter

As I was compiling the list of Century 21 agents and employees using Twitter several ideas struck me. First congratulations to Century 21 First Realty for being so far ahead of the rest of us in acclimating to this new communications platform.  I hope they'll help us all get better at using this medium.

One of the first things that struck me is how many Century 21 agents do not have their profile filled out fully and many of them do not identify their agency name in their profile.  This is not a medium for secret agents.  Even if you are primarily blogging about Long Island wine country, it makes good business sense to indentify yourself as a Century 21 agent.  Our brand is strong and will get stronger as we reveal our power in the social media.  This is good for all Century 21 agents- especially those embracing the new technologies.

The other obvious fact is how many agents are new to Twitter and the social media in general.  I applaud you all for sticking your toe in the water.  Now its time to jump in the pool.

Finally, there are 125 people on my list.  There doesn't seem any good reason why we are not following and learning from each other.  Each of us must devise a marketing strategy geared towards getting the most out of our efforts in this social media platform but certainly following other agents, especially Century 21 agents from all around the world would be part of that strategy. Who knows? It might even gain you some referrals.

The next list will come out after the Labor Day break and I hope many of you on the list have progressed further on the journey by then.
