Dinah thinks she is sweet

This Mama dog was selected to nurse these two red Panda cubs at a zoo in China. She was chosen out of several candidates after the cubs real mother abandoned them shortly after birth.

She has grown very attached and favors them at times over her own babies.

I was wondering what will happen once they begin to grow but I read that red Pandas are about the size and resemble a raccoon.

I thought this was a great example of shaing the LOVE!

At 3-weeks-old, the baby cubs have yet to open their eyes and have doubled in length to 20 centimeters (8 inches), Xinhua reported.

Unlike the more well-known, bear-like giant pandas, red pandas resemble raccoons with long bushy tails. There are believed to be fewer than 2,500 adult red pandas in the world.

That is amazing, not only that the dog would allow it, but that the little babies would take to it.  So beautiful.

The mothering instinct is very strong in much of the animal world.  Sometimes we worry to much wether babies will survive in the wild!

It's odd how little babies don't really care as long as milk is delivered.

Wow, Chosen out of several candidates, I would have pictured a larger dog, does she have enough milk for those big babies? I always enjoy your posts Dinah.

Not a real person

We have some red pandas at the San Diego Zoo. Unfortunately, they are just outside the exhibit for the giant pandas, so everyone skips the red pandas and goes to the line for the giant pandas.
