I always find dandelions pretty.  I know anyone trying to maintain a lawn disagrees but I always find their persistence inspiring.

Growing up in an Italian home a regular feature at the table was dandelion greens either in salads or cooked. Mostly cooked and in Broth. It wasn't until I left the area that I found out people killed them and they are weeds to many. So yes they are beautiful

Pretty....OK I will give you that one but some fine DANDELOIN WINE might also be another good choice!

Robert, my Aunt used to make Dandelion wine and I have heard of using them in salads. They always seem to look better in the next door neighbors yard though. lol

They are pretty, but I know my neighbors clench their teeth when my kids blow on them!

It all depends what you are looking at, do you see the intricacy of the flower or the seeds that produce the weeds?  For me I could care less, my grass is green and that's good enough for me.

Robert,

Growing up in upstate N.Y. we had these all over!! My sister and I use to love to blow on them and watch them float off in the breeze..it was like blowing bubbles! It's amazing what what will entertain you when you are a child!!!

I agree VB!  I don't put chemicals or anything on my lawn, and love the yellow buds!  I am a little crazy!

Hi, Robert:

I used to hate dandelions and ruthlessly pulled them up whenever I found them. But then I learned their deep roots are actually good for the yard, helping to aerate the soil. Also, the young leaves are very nutritious in salads. So I leave them now, unless they are growing in the front yard of one of my listings!

Cheers,

Robin

As a kid I can remember every dandelion puff I picked to blow the puff away...  Now I hate them as I need to weed my grass...

I loved dandelions when I was growing up, but my wise old grandmother always made me pull them.
