You can't even lie worth a dang.

"Any bill without a public health insurance plan like Medicare is not health reform," said Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus. "Without a public option there will be no way to keep insurance companies honest and their rates down. A public health option that competes with private insurers will set standards that could help lower costs and improve access."

Well how do we keep you Socialist liberals honest with it?

Right now I trust the insurance companies more than I do politicians.

You can't even lie worth a dang. Your President says AARP backs the bill and then has to retract the statement. For God's sake, get on the same lie/page will ya!

Terry,

I'm amazed at the speed which businesses are being demonized in this country. I guess if you don't have a credible solution, just point at someone else as the problem.

Terry,

Thought this might interest you, a link to an AARP position piece written by AARP president A Barry Rand where he unequivocably backs Obama/health care reform.

I've dealt with dozens of insurance companies Terry, not one of them would I trust to do anything above board with regard to claims adjustments without being forced at gun point.  Your remark makes one question your sincerity.

Terry,

I do think that I am hearing just a little bit of anger or should I say a lot of distrust.

I agree..I trust neither..the system we have has only one villian, the new system would have two terrible entities plus the amount of fraud that will come with it will blow any other program away..why have we waited to reform and go after the fraud in our other programs???  Why no tort reform?  Shouldnt we go after waste when we know its there?  They even have a figure for how much waste..why do we have to pass a law to go after the fraud??  Why aren't they just doing it??  Its OUR money...right..I think they think its THEIR money..big difference in beliefs..I cant believe they are even considering this...every state, every country that has this, hates it...unless you are the people who dont do anything and contibute just your vote to the party giving you, health care, food, education, etc...doen't it say somehwere pursuit of happieness??  Not get in line for your happieness, healthcare, education..etc..have a great night...Remember All, this country is just about an opportunity to be great..you actually have to go do it.

I would rather be at the mercy of the insurance companies than our govenment.

I am with Richard. It is unbelievable how villanized capitalism is these days. Yet time and again it has been proven that the government is not capable of running enterprises.

Government health care shouldn't even be debated. Since when did govt. have the authority to step in and take control over that part of anyones life?

Jon - It's very likely your parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles are quite happy with their govt health care.  Ask them if they feel controlled by it.

Kim - capitalism is villanized because it deserves it.  Just look at what years of unfettered, unchecked capitalism did to this countries economy.  The wealth and power is so concentrated there are no free markets anymore, if there ever were.  I don't hate corporations or the wealthy but I do understand the way things work and it is very obvious that regulations are needed to level the playing field.

The two messages I saw from AARP (being the member that I am) were conflicting, not the President's.

I don't trust politicians, insurance companies, or banks, which is why I do a lot of reading rather than just listening to soundbites on television, although Morning Joe (ultra conservative) and Hardball (ultra liberal) both are extremely good.
