What does the Door to a home mean or say to you when entering? I love Doors and Windows! When I built my home I had Doors and Windows moved around and added as I wanted them. Then when I decorated my home I placed pictures of Doors and Windows placed throughout.

I believe the Door has many different functions. It's the living breathing heartbeat of the home. It invites people into your life, it breathes of the life within, it protects you from the natural environment as well as from those you seek refuge of have no desire to accommodate. It boasts of the pride your family has, it allows the world to come to you. It means security & warmth. If painted the color can show clues to your personality or the richness of your soul.

A movable structure used to close off an entrance, typically consisting of a panel that swings on hinges or that slides or rotates.
A similar part on a piece of furniture or a vehicle.

A doorway.

The room or building to which a door belongs: They live three doors down the hall.

A means of approach or access: looking for the door to success.

One reason I was attrated to my new homes was that it has an open floor plan and 8 french doors that lead out ot my patio and pool ..every morning I get to see a water fall through the glass at 8 different locations.

Hi Danny: I love doors and windows too. I like to imagine what lies within those doors -- or what the views are outside the windows -- they take us to magical places. I have a lot of pictures of doors and windows too! I wonder what that says about a person. Hmmm.

Danny, a man after my own soul! I have almost an obsession about doors and any of my sellers can tell you that the first thing that I tell them is that the front door is the first impression of the house. It needs to be freshly painted or stained and the hardware needs to be functional. I always test to see if the key glides in and out and if the mechanism smoothly unlocks. WD-40 is my best friend....

Joan, Not only do I have a fascination with Doors and windows. but also for Arches and old Stairways.
