JobIs this you in the picture?  Lost behind a mountain of work that never goes down?

Are you working your tail off for little or no money?  Do do feel under-appreciated and over-worked?

Or maybe you lost your job due to the recession? Are you one of the Lucky Few who did not lose their job, but now are doing the work of two or three people with no extra $$$?

Are you in a rut, but don't know which way to go? Job      Not challenged?  Can't wait for 5:00?

Is it time for a career change?

Assess your strengths

A career in Real Estate maybe right for you.

I thought about Real Estate as a career possibility for more than 10 years.  Finally I ran out of excuses of why it wouldn't work for me.  Once I made the decision to get a Real Estate license I never looked back and have never regretted my decision. Yes, the first year can be challenging financially, but starting with my second year I made more $$$ every year than the previous year.

Mary - While many would read your post and question your sanity, both of us know that today's real estate climate offers great potential to those who are willing to work hard, are reasonably intelligent, possess common sense, are people oriented, and who can be flexible.  Newcomers will not be carrying the baggage of doing business the "old way" and will bring a fresh approach and new ideas to create success.  It is a great time to begin a real estate career, and if they are fortunate enough to have you as a mentor they'll be even better prepared!

John--My mother questioned my sanity when I made my decision in 1985.  Some things never change, do they?  I appreciate your visit and comments as always.  Irene & Jess Tron, AR members, has a refreshing approach to the new way.

Anna--I know there are so many people in dead-end jobs or looking for work, but don't realize the potential Real Estate offers.  Thanks for dropping in.  Love your new group.

Michael--You are right.  New blood is always welcome.  It is too early in the mornig for me to write in color.  Later.

What a great perspective you must add to real estate education with your experience in blogging Mary!

With unemployment still looming in double digits in certain states, I'm sure there will be students on a regular basis for awhile. A Real Estate career does offer great potential for those willing to be disciplined to work and practice delayed gratification :)

Sincerely,

Grace

Every year hundreds enter this business here and they drop like flies when the times get tough.

I agree with Carole. The best people I know in RE either came in before the boom or are entering now. Priorities are straight and there are no pie-eyes . . .

This is a great approach to recruiting and if I was, I'd do it too!

Bet it works for you too!  :)

Terry--I like your terminology ... drop like flies.  One out of four don't survive their first year.  Another post someday.

Carole--You are right in your observation.  When people get into the business now they learn to work hard.  Therefore when times get better they are well on the road to being successful rather than coming in when times are good and not having to work very hard to make a sale.

Candice--Priorities, a good word.  Agents new, seasoned & mature need to set their priorities in order to survive & be successful.  I love working with agents whether in classroom, training session, mentoring, etc. And I love sharing my knowledge here at ActiveRain.
