Gunsmoke

Did you know that today is the birthday of Gunsmoke?

Gunsmoke, the longest-lasting TV western, premiered in 1955 on CBS. James
Arness starred as Marshal Matt Dillon. The show ran for twenty
years until September 1, 1975. But before that it was a radio show from April 1952 to June 1961 starting William Conrad. Now how does this apply to AR, it got me thinking about old time radio show and the theater of the mind, I feel that our blogs are a type of theater of the mind because they make you think, so rather than watching tv try listening to any of the old showes, or better yet make your kids listen.

Thanks for the walk down memory lane. I didn't realize the show ran for 20 years.

I used to be addicted to Gunsmoke when I was growing up, but I haven't watched any reruns in many a year now. Perhaps too much Playing in the Rain -- LOL.
