My Wednesday Morning Wake-Up Call - Pocono Black Bears

Alright I missed the "Wordless Wednesday" because after I stumbled upon what I would most definitely have submitted I had a long busy day of listings to get hopping on. I cannot wait though another day so check out the picture below. It was taken from my truck as I pulled into my parking lot to open my office yesterday morning, Wednesday September 24, 2009. As I was talking to "The Greatest Design Girl" in the World, Sharon Horney from Candellife Graphics ( who you should definitely associate yourself with here on ActiveRain), I swear to you that Momma and her two cubs just came waltzing out of the woods behind my office and were walking right at my truck. I quickly got off the phone so I could utilize my camera portion of the phone and below is my best result. If I hadn't put my passenger window down they all would have no doubt walked right by me. Trucks and cars were stopping right out on Route 940 to watch this incredible sight. Enjoy the Picture! I will always treasure the moment. Bears are AWESOME to view in the wild!

WOW...great picture. That would wake you up!! I live in Jamestown, Tennessee where black bears were relocated from the Smokey Mountain National Park to The Big South Fork National Park. Apparently, they are thriving and no doubt the population is growing. I have really mixed feelings about that. I saw three bears last year...or did I see one bear three times?

We have a mama with two cubs that wander through our yard occasionally.  Unfortunately, it's mostly early morning or late evening so unless you are outside, you don't see them.  I only got to se them once this year in daylight, but I was working in the garden and didn't have my camera.  I never get tired of watching bears!

Hi Rick, what an experience!  I always find it fascinating to see wild animals living so close to humans and I'm glad they put up with us.

Now that is one thing that I will not see here!  How lucky for you to have been able to sit and watch them at their leisure.
