I have returned from Boston, MA where I've attended the CREW Convention.
(Commercial Real Estate Women).  What an event! I took a "Leadership
Course taught by Dr. Gloria Schuck which truly inspired me.  It taught me
about Flexibility, Control, Values, Energy, Practice, Courage, Respect,
Authenticity, Being Mindful, Self Awareness, Renewal and Adaptability.

The main thing that I took away is that we are ALL Leaders at some capacity.
Whether in real estate, or at school organizations, chambers, or groups that
we belong to.  We all collectively have the capacit to create a future.
Everybody has it and if you TEAM up with others, give everyone a voice and
lead your team with respect, it's unbelievable how far you can get.

As a good Leader you can inspire, give courage, empower, train, guide and
be fair to everyone on your team.

One more important lesson is:  Don't forget to THANK those mentors who
have helped you to where you are today.  Pick up the phone and let them
know how much you appreciate them.  It can be your parents, your friends,
your teachers and professors, your boss or someone that was there during
the time when you needed them the most.

Secondly, be a Mentor to others!  Help young people in your field, help your
own children to be the better Leader!  Develop a LEGACY list and be on
many LEGACY lists.  One day someone will call you and THANK YOU for being
a mentor in their life.  I hope to be on many LEGACY lists.  Dagmar Sands

I recently found my first mentor through face book.

I was 17 years old and he started teaching me about mortgages and how to run an office.

Now 35 and a Loan Officer in Texas.  It was so nice to connect with the person who taught me so much when I was just a teenager.

He is still my mentor.  How cool is that?
