There are 95 homes on the market FOR SALE or RENT within 1 mile of the Wheaton Metro Station at the time of this report (10/22/2009).

The least expensive Rental is a one-bedroom detached listed at $995/month, which includes some of your utilities.  While there is a four-bedroom home on the market, the most expensive RENTAL is a three-bedroom three full bath townhouse within walking distance of the subway station listed for $2,700.  

The least expensive on the market FOR SALE is a one-bedroom one bath apartment listed for $134,900. The most expensive home FOR SALE is a ten-bedroom six full bath one half bath detached home on nearly three quarters of an acre of ground (.63 ac) with three fireplaces listed for $799,000.

First, thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

Yes, as compared to some other regions of the country this may very well seem high.  But it is the old line - Location, Location, Location.  All the listings I am talking about are within 1 mile of a Subway stop here in Montgomery County Md.  Go out a little farther and the prices do come down some.
