Mike Jones (Miracle Mike) asked for a vintage (circa 1980...) photo yesterday, but I was in CE class all day so just this morning had a minute to dig up an oldie.

This photo was taken in West Palm Beach, FL on the Quarter Horse show circuit I followed every year while I lived on 440 acres in Sarasota with Mr. Blackmon with plenty of 'disposable' income. What a great time I had showing horses all over the country, and raising some great foals as well. My favorite classes on the show circuit were Halter, Western Pleasure, English Hunt Seat, Reining, and a few others thrown in every now and then.

I had so much disposable income at that time (thanks to Mr. Blackmon's very successful construction company) that I flew to Arizona twice a year to be measured for my hand-made show clothes. Nothing like doing things with gusto/ridiculous consumerism! I was, and still am, most passionate about horses and the Western lifestyle, and would love to immerse myself in it even more! Horses, Cowboys, an Airstream, and a checking account in the black are the focus of my vision board!

Here's my beautiful Horsealicious website, a work in progress (built by Dakno). I have big plans for the site, over time.

The filly in this photo was by Man-in-Command, a World Champion stallion owned by Tommy Manion. Her dam was a big, stout Quarter horse mare I owned at the time.

The horses, along with Mr. Blackmon, are no longer in my stable!

Let 'er buck!

Susie - "The horses, along with Mr. Blackmon, are no longer in my stable!"  I'm not sure how to decipher that line, but I like it.

I've never had much interaction with horses, but what a beautiful and talented creature they are.

Susie - Interesting story about the horse family and thank you for sharing it here. I'm not a horse person but my youngest daughter is, who graduated with a BA in Therapeutic Horesmenship in N.C. this past summer, though still looking for a job near Warner Robin AFB.

Susie - you are a consummate story teller, for sure.  I got the same request from Mike, but won't be able to accommodate until tomorrow when I can dig through the unpacked boxes of photos!  But I have a special one I'm looking for, and I think you'll get a kick out of it!  Can't wait to see ya tomorrow evening!

Kathy, thank you. And my life has been wonderful!

Jason, nice to see you! Flattered you enjoyed parts of my blog!

Toula, hope you enjoy Horsealicious.

Mike, I finally got the picture posted for you.

Petra, your daughter obviously loves horses too, and what a great career for her.

Carol, if you saw my little cabin right now you would tell me to stay home and clean it. Oh well, the weekend will have to be my cleaning opportunity. I'm very anxious to see you too!!

What's the first thing you do when you get bucked off!  Get your butt back in the saddle.

Well, unless it was a bull.  THAT is one I won't try again.  Once was enough, many years ago.

But still love the horses when I can.   You ever get up to the Kentucky Horse Park!

Speaking of 1980 as vintage sure makes me feel a little older.

"Horses, Cowboys, an Airstream, and a checking account in the black are the focus of my vision board!" I could do all of those except the Airstream -- LOL.

Larry, Dakno is the best ... they do beautiful sites and GREAT customer service.

Michael, I knew you would understand.

Erby, lucky you in Kentucky. I'd love to live on a horse farm there. I could add so much to my horse website.

Russel, I love airstreams! Thanks for stopping by.

Lisa, I have to keep my personal stories at a minimum. The AR police would spank me if I told too much!

Hello Susie and I did see this within Mike's comments, that post was a hit and I reblogged it and featured it at one of my groups. The photograph of you is wonderful and classy but where are the young cowboys?
