Title Insurance Are you covered?

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomServices Partners Realty

I sold a property to a Realtor friend of mine several years ago he purchased title insurance on property

about a year ago he started receiving letters stating that there were other heirs of the property that

were omitted from the original sale. His title company is advising him that he could lose the property

how could this happen any advise or suggestion would be appreciated thanks.

This is a very complicated matter.  The paperwork needs to be reviewed, etc.  Best to go directly to an attorney in the local area who is well-versed on the subject matter.

Great Heads UP!!!  This actually happens in the South frequently and I NEVER heard of title insurance being valuable until I was licensed in CA. Go figure!!

The best thing your customer can do is get a good real estate attorney to solve the problem.

Good luck and success.

When it comes to title issues, a good real estate attorney is worth his weight in gold (or whatever he is charging these days).
